I'll be honest the graphics look dated, however IF and I do mean IF (otherwise know as IFF, If and ONLY IF) they DO get CROSS PLATFORM working aka PC vs Xbox vs PS3... then i'll give them win for it. Otherwise there is nothing impressive so far.

Graphics looks dated next to Crysis 2.

It ain't dated when compared to Counter Strike.

Totally agree @ cross platform play win. If it gets that right, SOLD!!

I loved some CS action back in the day but gave up on it for bigger and (imo) better games like CoD and Battlefield.

Won't mind a return to the classic if it gets a fresh coat of paint.

Dota 2 and CS Global Offensive immc. Back to the Future iwmc.

That's the spirit. Im just containing my thoughts about the graphics as "Counter-Strike only", not really comparing it with other FPS' out there.

its confirmed cross platform play will be coming to ps3 for sure with the ps3 version also supporting mouse and keyboard support (no need for eagle eye) as well as move support

i doubt M$ will open up XBL to allow this just like portal 2

graphics dont make the game W1n , this is a PSN/XBLA release
solid mp gameplay > graphics anyday

also confirmed is matchmaking with have an ELO rating system so ppl get matched with similiar skilled players....WIN right there, buyin this game for sure Thats 4 must buy games now for 2012

Think beyond your super gaming rig owning self Phoenix.

What about the guys who can't afford a bess PC but are PC gamers at heart?

They can now buy a $249.99 PS3 and plug in a keyboard and mouse.

Voila. Next Gen gaming nirvana on the cheap.

The pc gaming experience is far more than kb/mouse.
Its also about superiority, openness, expansion path, community, creativity.
Nothing that exist on a console.... or mac...>.>

And if graphics doh make a game.
Then 8 bit sprites for everything.

I'm thinking about the old school gamers who could not keep up with the vicious PC upgrade cycle who used to beast Counter Strike in its many iterations over the years.

A coming out party for this new version with upgraded graphics may just be the ticket to get them back into war.

Remember, its counterstrike we talking about. That's classic old school FPS.

The new generation of PS3 gamers who sweet on games like Uncharted 2, GoW3 and Kill Zone won't really be the target here (imo)

I think they made that cross platform and keyboard/mouse hype to cater especially to those veterans who have fallen off the PC bandwagon.

There is another big issue that keeps the kb/mouse out of the console space though. Its a serious eye sore in the living room for the women folk. lol

You should see the kind of looks I get everytime I setup the Xim.

u dont know much about consoles if u have community up there
graphics do not make the game, gameplay does
u sound like the person to buy a garbage game that looks good but plays like ass

graphics are a bonus not a necessity if graphics are the main things u look for in a GAME then why play the games? just watch a movie or watch someone play. Gameplay will always be #1 thats what ppl buy games for (notice the keywords...GAMEplay and GAME ) and games like Minecraft prove ur point to be rubbish

what u and others try to do is justify the amount of money u spend on ur PCs by trying to convince ppl that graphics make the games

that superiority point is a load of bull as well....how many watered down ports did the PC get resulting in an inferior experience compared to the console version?
At the end of the day is up to the developers to produce a good game ur PC wont magically turn crap into gold.

everytime i have to preach this point to u few who have 0 console knowledge it honestly feels like this....

sometimes i wonder.......why bother.....

yes new gamers being born everyday and its these ADD gamers that are ruining games
everything gettin easier, dumbed down, features being taken away, skill slowly becoming irrelevant all because today's gamer cant take the time to learn the mechanics of a game

so u find devs holding gamers hand more and more and the only thing gettin better is graphics and i hate that.

"oh wait u just died 5x in a row? here let me reward u with this handy dandy death streak, now go out and be winner even tho ur losing!"
"oh whats that? u are completely dominating these kids already and we should make it easier? why sure xxEliteSniperProKid2923 here goes ur Helo/Airstrike that u can deploy anywhere and get u even more kills on the kids u dont need help dominating"

what devs need to start doing is having 2 separate mp sections or make it mandatory to have a competitive playlist in ALL their games so that old skool/good/competitive ppl wont be forced to always have to deal with the random crap they added to games to attract casuals

Im glad CS is coming to consoles, it will be a good hit imho and i intend to try this game out with the Move and see how it performs. Alot of console players are tired of devs constantly catering to noobs and newcomers and never doing anything for their hardcore players.

I hear you bro and I think that would solve the problem.

A soft core and hard core mode in MP.

To be fair, I think a lot of games already have that approach.

They just need to further develop along those lines. Catering to both the casual and competitive market.

i dont consider what other games call hardcore to be hardcore at all
lowering health actually makes games more campy and takes less skill imo as it results in lucky spray an pray deaths whereas more health u actually have to keep ur aim steady on a target while he strafes for a few seconds to get the kill

cod hardcore is a joke to me.

do agree with them needing to cater to further develop and cater to both casual and competitive.
Black Ops recently did this by adding a competition playlist to their game after a visit to an MLG event this year and seeing how the cod competitive scene is....within a few days the playlist was out, no stickin.

more devs need to get involved with eSports. Its booming right now and they can easily cash in on it if money is what they looking for.

Just last night Gears of War 3 was shown for the 1st time on LAN at MLG as an exhibition event with the Gow2 national champs goin up against Epic's play testers
and even before this Cliffy asked MLG CEO for a list of things they would like added to the game to make it more competition worthy on the Pro Circuit and judging from the CEO's tweets Epic has delivered at least most of what they asked for

its stuff like this thats showing me that epic looking to support their competitive players as well

then u turn to a game like BF3 and all they keep showing ppl is pretty colours and the game launches in 2 months yet i have gotten more info about DUST from the devs about features in that game and that game releases next year.....
