I built a pc for a friend using some new parts I got online. It is a simple AM3 machine with DDR3 memory and an Asus board with integrated sound/video.
Anyway I installed all the parts thermaltake psu, board, ram, HD etc. and everything working nice. Machine running stable for a few days now. The problem arises when I plug in speakers to the integrated sound. I getting some static from the moment I turn on the machine and an annoying buzzing noise when I move the USB mouse lol.
I also tried headphones, same thing happens. I had a usb sound card lying around and tried that, it resolved the issue. I did some research online and people mention that it could be a grounding issue. I used the supplied plastic spacers between the board and case to ensure the motherboard doesn't touch the case.
Any suggestions on how to fix this?
