So i get internet from my neighbor via CAT5 cable , the network setup is a flow modem going into a switch for the neighbours local network , and then a cable from that switch to my switch/router in my house.
Ever since he moved from Blink to Flow i can no longer get a reliable connection to the internet . To detect computers on my home network the flow modem needs to be reset , and after awhile it just stops giving IPs and refuses to recognize any machines even if i set the correct static ip/local server etc. manually.
By crixx's advice i tried to log into the modem to disable DHCP , so i went by my neighbour with my laptop and i simply could not access the modem via any of the IPs listed in ipconfig/all , the DNS , local server etc. all refused to connect.
Back home now on the home network , my laptop plugged into my router works fine with the internet and will get assigned an IP automatically ,my desktop however refuses to work as before even if i set a static ip....
Any help?? Im going to ask flow support to disable DHCP on the modem or to give me some assistance later on this week .
remember the setup is : Modem --> Switch ---> Router--> My PC and laptop
I'v used both a router (with dhcp enabled and disabled ) and a switch on my home network to the same effects..
