Radeon 4850 temps fix

hey guys i just got a 4850 HD works like a dream btw anyways the card was idling @ 75 plus degrees in the day and on load up to 85 (I've heard this is normal) buts those temps bother me so i found an easy solution without replacing the cooler is to open up the CCC enable overdrive and shift the fan percent up to 40 now my card idles at 55 and maxes out at 60-65 on load !

HA!!! Dude, we were doing fanhacks for HD4000 series cards LONG before ATI put that
slider in the CCC.

You are very late, but nice card by the way.

Let me warn you though, certain games tax your GPU so wickedly, that you may have to carry that slider
up to 80% or more.

Hmmm i remember them days of xml fan hacking and having to select the profile upon every boot. After riva tuner brought support, never looked back.

yea dude i kno but i jus put it up for those that might not kno i used riva tuner but i couldnt get the table to come up and i didnt want to flash the bios so i jus used the ccc
