US Airways Hudson Crash passengers to get $5000 compensation

The Airbus A320 crash-landed in the Hudson last week after hitting birds and losing thrust in both engines. All 155 people on board survived. The rest of the plane was taken to a New Jersey marina over the weekend.

The airline has sent $5,000 checks to each of the 150 passengers to compensate them for lost luggage and other belongings.

Well, that's a nice gesture, considering the crash was not the airline's fault.

dred...... you know what the funny thing is?

i travelled on them (US Airways )  from Boston to La Guardia.. just 5 days before.. LOL ( but it was a A319 i was on.. not a A320)
also... the plane that crashed left La Guardia was headed to North Carolina ( Charlotte, to be exact..... I was 2-3 hours away.. in Durham, NC

charlotte is nice though

stopped off their on my 14 hour drive from NY to West Virginia... fun times... got treated to a corona with lime wedge for my troubles.. not too shabby.. no Heineken, but better than that Budweiser rubbish
