And now that we're here...
X-Men 500 starts a brand new arc as the x-men have moved from their long time home in Westchester, NY to the city of San Francisco and things are very different from how they were in their old home. For one...the mayor and the city in general seems not only to accept but also welcome the X-men so they have a lot of autonomy in their movements....but...to the isssue.
The issues begins with Scott and Emma taking their new mayor through a guided tour of the new x-base as we're re-introduced to the most recent main x-team. Things are pleasant until the major passed on knowledge that a performace artist is having a somewhat controversial exhibition to welcome the x-men...using decomissioned sentinels as his main piece. The x-men decide to make an appearance to feel out public reaction curb any tensions that may arise. The X-men however, aren't the only people to make an appearance. A seemingly repowered magneto returns and begins to dispatch the x-men in a battle of sheer power vs Cyc's and Emma's tactical prowess.
So yeah....there's more but I won't spoil it for you. Issue was awesome. #501's out this week, too.
