Ok awhile ago i informed some people that i was lookin for a grafix card buh i had de predicament of no free agp slots.
So after some nice pricewatch searching ive decided i may spend about 200 dollars and upgrade my system to a point where i can actually play games like halo or even MOHAA for pete's sake.
(i cah play mohaa, sof2 , cs, nothing like that on my current system thanks to this dell intel nonsensical crappy ass chipset they have installed)
SOoooooo these are the upgrades iam going to make
Current Upgrade COST
P3-733 mhz 133 P3-1.13 ghz 133. $69
SD 256mb @133 SD 512 @133 $31
and de final piece is de pci grafix card i found
i need advice on whether this is a decent card and worth the $70

Ok here my advice
Dat card is a pack of shiet
g-force fx 5200 is a pack of cow dung
also my advice on a pci card would have to be DONT BUY 1
also my observations on the otehr parts you selected would have to be
SHIET SHIET SHIET AND MORE SHIET............
Thate ram is well a waste of time and money you need minimum 512 ddr 333
my suggestion would be just go with 1 part a graphics card and maby some ram g-force fx 5600 up
or ati radeon 9600 up
and i tihnk youll also need a new mother board.
any otehr questions =)

10% ONLY???!!! wow.... the FX is as slow as a geforce 2 for non DX9 titles... but i'm sure its the fastest you can find.. unless the 9700 PCI exists . The FX uses SLOOOO ram , like 6ns [ the geforce 4 mx has 4ns, radeon 9700 2.8 ns] so it can afford lots of it. I'd go with a nu mobo and a radeon 8-9xxxx , the colour quality is superb and very few bugs with newer drivers .

i dont wanan waste sucha large upgrade on a system iam not gonna use that much when i get my new one
i dont wanna change de mobo, its been pretty reliable for me, when i changed the ram the last time i get a big boost so iam gonna do that again ande de processor
as i said, really strapped for cash, i may use this pc as a server or something when i get my new system but for now the pci is my only real alternative and the audigy platinum as well.
i just need the best pci card i can find

i'd go wit de geforce 4 mx 128mb.. de FX does not support true DX9 anyhow.... it only has shader 1.4 , not shader 2.0 like the 9600 pro and 5700 ultra

crixx its hard advice but youll have to list. youll waste more money in the long term doing this short term fix. parts devalue very quicky and sd-ram and pre ghz processors are dog cheap. reselling them is basically giving them away. why waste money pampering an old motherboard? the working requirements for games are already in the GHZ range (whether they admit it or not) and a PCI card isnt going to help.
while im on PCI cards. PCI cards arent really that fast. in agp terms they are 2X cards. even with a fx PCI card it wont be a huge improvement cause if the limited bandwith. GFX heavy games still will slow down.
the best advice is to wait. park the games aside and save and build a new system. parts devalue to quicky to make any return on an proper upgrade.
