After several beatings, he came down from lala land and said he would try to remember to bring the cube on his next visit.

Not to necro or anything, but as it's a new year, As soon as Arena 2008 is announced, the Crew would once again like to extend a request for a little official NGNT4 match up, sweatage or any action of the fun, officially recognised kind. As I post this today - 3rd. January, 2008 - the crew has begun to pick up NGNT4 once more; Over the course of 2007, Speed, KSM, GTR, and myself have drifted apart, but as of yesterday, our mutual interest has been renewed. In our enthusiasm to obtain the title  `best in T&t`, we have also enlisted another member of Speed`s Crew, Shadow Link. The latest member is currently in training and is demonstrating noticeable prgoress. While KSM and myself will be in canada between the dates of the 9É01É08 - 20É04É08
Speed, GTR and Shadow Link will certainly be available. Please do not accept the challenge if you do not intend to practice,
but understand that we intend to not only show up when a date is made, but take the title (if not honorably) by default.

The best in tnt @ a game that only a handful of people can play more than just mashing buttons ? Yeah thats quite an achievement. I wish allyuh would throw that enthusiasm into a game that people actually play mainstream and has a tournament following rather than playing a game that has like 4 ppl that know the game past button mashing.

Sorry to burst your bubble there but its a harsh truth.

Yeah....to be bluntly honest, I've never really liked the Naruto series so much.
The game has never really appealed to me anymore than a simple mashfest that doesn't really show change from title to title.
Like I said, it's a fighting game that had its day in the sun purely based on the popularity of the anime.
It just doesn't have staying power to really be anything beyond that.


But, to each his own.
I am definitely not going to knack you guys for playing a game you have fun sweating in, because that's what gaming is all about- having fun.

What I will say is this, though. Unless Crixx takes you up on the challenge again, don't really expect much responses here with regards to that game. Other than your inner circle of players, there really aren't any challengers for this game.

Then again, and very sad to say, even if Crixx does respond here, there is a very good chance that he will pull a Zanzibar on you. I'm sorry, but that's the bitter truth.

just because the game isnt very popular in trinidad, doesnt mean its not a great game
and it really trully is an awesome fighting game with alot of depth

i mean, neo, yu like that silly mortal game, and hardly anyone plays it, but yur good at it and enjoy sweating it, so kudos to you.


as for kimi an speed an de rest
what can i say, tech closed a while now and they were the only cafe in the west that had a cube AND naruto,
so none of us have played any naruto in a long time.

but iam as always itching to play so id take up the challenge.
there is no where in the west for us to play so it would have to be some east bound destination.

java has a tv available for console play, maybe we can go there some time.

ill try and bring along soem of the other naruto players as well.

And iam not making any excuse for the level of play ill be at

The 'silly' Mortal game is far more popular than you know.
By the way, I don't know how far flung you have been out of the loop, but UMK3 is practically rising back ever since being featured on X-Box Live, and there have been quite a few competitions and discussions on it. Also, people are experimenting with the newest title, Ultimate Mortal Kombat for the DS, on Wi-Fi to see how arcade-perfect it is to the original.

In all honesty, I'd like to see Naruto rise from the dead like that. Oh wait. I can almost bet you my life that it won't.

But, I digress.
This isn't about some closet jealousy that people seem to exhibit that they have to mention my 'silly love of MK' all over the place like a Third Strike player with cerebral palsy when nobody really gives a damn. This is about Naruto, and the players who like it.

i work, as do alot of us, and they have earlier bedtimes than i do, so when i got off of work and headed over to tech
i was informed that no less than 60 seconds before i got there, they had left
that was just damn bad luck, not me not responding to a CHALLENGE!

but money aint always flowing the way i want it to at them times

just cause a game isnt popular in trinidad, doesnt mean its not a good game
aka most of the roster for wcg arent that popular in trinidad, but a good percentage of the rest of the world likes it.
even american game magazines like ngnt, with their limited horizons and all


when melty blood first came out, almost no one in trinidad knew bout it, if it wasnt for rb, iam sure 90% of the people that know bout it, would not have.

thats probably true but the real exposure came with the ps2 port.

never said gnt was bad, it has some depth but considering that most people now more than ever are influenced by the anime hitting TV, it really takes a step backward cause every 10+ child want naruto cause hey it on tv and it bad...then they mash buttons like B B B B  press X fo jutsu etc.  Going even further backwards is the fact that it is in japanese (GNT4) and you do need a modded cube (or freeloader) but we could probably count those ppl easily.

You can prove me wrong though , throw a small tournament and record the attendance etc. I'll be glad to take my wrong if the level of competition is decent.

Wow.  Seems somebody else shares my sentiments about Crixx.  I thought I was alone.  I can stop feeling like I'm in that whole "I am Legend" scenario now.

Not to totally hijack the flow of this thread here but;
I have challenged Crixx to Soul Calibur 1,2, SF Hyper, CvS2, SF3 3s and I think Guilty Gear was on the list as well.

I ended up playing him in Soul Calibur 2 only because I randomly decided to tag along to Euro with Fault to see what the scene was.
