NAT3 for PS3
« on: September 01, 2007, 01:59:33 PM »
Ok I am in Trinidad and have a PS3. I am connected to the internet with a speedstream 5200 and a linksys WRT54G. I am trying to play tekken online but only get dissconnected. So I am getting online but only a NAT 3. To play online games you need at least a NAT 2. When trying to play it aways disconnects and says error  back to title screen. I have taken down my Firewall for my ISP(TSTT). I believe that the speedstream 5200 modem is firewalling my PS3,since I connected it directly and still NAT 3. Any suggestions on how I could get  NAT 2 or 1 using these devices?

one word : LAG

its not worth it imo, had the older DR so just upgraded it, its nothing like offline play at all. I'd say it downright sucks unless you play someone local or close to you. It's worth it for the practice mode though.

I think all multiplayer games should be online now wether it works good or not just for the people who like it. Personally id prefer not to play a game like tekken online judging that we in trinidad and we pretty far from most players of the game so expect some serious lag.

About internet speeds my internet was moving horrible and then a tstt tech told me my speedstreem dsl is outdated and is giving trouble and he replaced it with paradyne and its been workin good since so maybe that could be the problem if u running 256k dsl.
I will live forever..... Until i die

Like we discussed already frame dependant fighting games are not meant to be online just yet. I am assuming that local vs local would work out better but how much is questionable. My experience was basically things came out a half second to a second after i did the moves. Combos were near impossible to land comfortably, this is pretty much in the same boat where as DOA4 where there are things that work online that are impossible in offline play.

Conclusion - if you are a "serious" tekken player and you want to improve by playing comp from abroad then this is probably not for you, if you just wanna play casually and don't mind having to change your offline playstyle to accomodate the delay online then by all means go ahead and play it.

If you had T5DR already the 10$ update fee is worth it just for the much needed practice mode.
