Study: It does not pay to be smart
« on: August 13, 2007, 08:37:20 PM »
Quote
If you're so smart, why aren't you rich? Although money and mental muscles may seem a natural match, brains, alas, may be more hindrance than help when it comes to getting rich, concludes a new study in the journal Intelligence.

"It is still not well understood why some people are rich and others are poor," writes study author Jay Zagorsky of Ohio State University. "Luck, timing, parents, choice of spouse and many other factors play important roles in shaping an individual's circumstances," he acknowledges in his study, which looks for a link between intelligence scores, wages and wealth.

talent<intelligence as far as i see it and there is no talent in what he does. the only thing i think he does the even slightly cool is his trademark laugh, and  anybody could laugh. his lyrics not particularly amazing, and to be fair none of really knows what he had to get where he is. but promoting violence and blatant acts of stupidity might make him money but it still does not make him respectable.

enough about him and more about the topic. it seems that the 2 quickest ways to make oodles of cash is either promotion of laziness or stupidity..
i present to you self stirring mugs and akon(he not nescessarily stupid i not talking bout the zen incident either, what i am pointing at the song with the lyrics: 'if you looking for me you could find me on the block disobeying the law. straight G thoroughbred something something" you get the idea...

lol xero you seem to be hitting the rap/hip hop artiste alot.....sometimes when you go in dept into these ppl you realise what you get on the surface is only a piece of their lives. And I let me point out one other thing
To get money quickly is to give ppl what they want
EG. 1. Doubles - $3.00 a pop....i does still taken in my normal 3 on a friday
2. Hip Hop music - full of crap and repeated topics...when i hit the club i want to be jumping out of my clothes so who cares
3. GATT - if we had to pay for this service im sure some would.....and that would make GATT exclusive not any and anyone would join....
4. Alcohol - $15 for a beer in the club and men still buying rounds for 6 of they bredren..

get the drift find a service ppl will want provide it and they will serve you

i don't disagree with you eh cross people will pay for (or steal) something they want like entertainment, but would it kill these people to put something sensible in their songs?
answer: probably because as the topic says: it doesn't pay to be smart.
doesn't that suck?
