PlayStation Network has been churning out amazing after amazing downloadable games for everyone to enjoy ever since the network launched in ‘06. These games don’t just make themselves…there are hard working indie developers that through creative minds and passion for innovative gaming sculpt these games into the gems you see on PSN today. One of these indie developers and my personal favourite are the PixelJunk team from Japan, Q-Games. These guys have made three of the most popular games ever to hit the PlayStation Store, and the names of these games are easily recognised…PIXELJUNK!From fast paced Racers, to tower defense Monsters and to the soothing Eden, Q-Games has created some of the best downloaded games I have ever played, and based on feedback from personal friends and comments on the internet, these games are favourites among many.Just recently PixelJunk Monsters was reborn as a new title for the PSP system, but as for a totally new inventive game, nothing new since PixelJunk Eden in 2008. This month though, Q-Games is bringing forth another immersive title that aims to capture those idle funds from your PSN Wallet.PixelJunk Shooter, announced earlier this year is almost out the door and the hype is increasing as the developer has taken alot of time to make this game as best as they could. In PixelJunk Shooter, the player pilots a subterranean vehicle that navigates through diverse cave-like complexes that are dynamic and o so visual. The goal of the game is getting through these detailed environments (water, magma, earth etc.) by manipulating the environment. There are also survivors in these environments that are to be rescued.Reviews have already begun surfacing and they for the most part hold high praise for this new title. The developer also has high hopes for this game and they have hosted a facebook group for some time now with the intention of becoming the first Million game seller on PSN. Its a very very steep figure to aim for as the digital download era is still fairly new, but we can all contribute to give Q-Games and the PixelJunk series the success it deserves.
