Will New J.R.R. Tolkien Novel ever Become Film

The new book is told in fragmentary form, similar to “The Silmarillion”, and is much darker than “The Hobbit” and “The Lord of the Rings”. The story is set long before “The Lord of the Rings” in Middle-earth and tells the tale of Turin and his sister Nienor who are cursed by Morgoth, the first Dark Lord.

Actually, if you read the statement, it never DID say that it was going to become a film...

“We all want this first and foremost to enjoy life as a book...No one’s saying never to a film (but) the film rights are reserved by the estate. We want to see what reaction it gets and then let it run its course.”

Note that statement, which means that it still requires clearance from the Tolkien estate, before it can be considered to be designed for production in a movie, and that clearance has not been done yet, so there can be no consideration of a movie being made about it just yet.

Next time, read before you blindly copy and paste a new topic.

I'd just like to see the Hobbit become an updated live action LOTR style epic... is that too much to ask for?

Yup it is too much .

Personally, I don't think any more of his books should become films, but if one has to be done, "The Hobbit" would be their best chance.
