OK,

I am going to be a bit late with this one but a few weeks ago, Ras brought his PS3 to GATT HQ with a strange request.

Download Tekken 5 Dark Resurrection for him.

Sure enough, the good folks at Sony had released the game online for download.

A DSL connection and a measly US$19.99 and we were playing Namco's latest and greatest fighter.

Awesome move.

More and more developers are going the direct download route and I am loving it!

Anyone else with a PS3 that did the deed as well?

Any other games worthy of downloading?

cause not everyone gonna want to download a "slimmed down" version of a game.

Tekken 5 Dark Resurrection came in at 500-800mb after they trimmed the fat (fmvs, etc)

That isn't too bad.

An RPG on the other hand could easily land at 4000 - 5000MB after trimming.

And you will always be feeling that you are missing something that the BluRay/hddvd high capacity version has.

does it share the same ghost data as the psp version? if it does look out for me on them ghost packs, i was once ranked pretty high and they uploaded my ghost data. sadistic_greyfox with Dragonov. any online play though?

not sure, but I loved the ghost pack idea.

Give the cpu opponent a more human like persona.

ghost play isn't all that i expected it to be, been playing this since it dropped a few weeks ago @ work, loving dragunov though. Hopefully this will replace vanilla tekken 5 as the standard down here.

Not that I would know since I haven't experienced either variants of the ghost fighter concept.

How did you guys d/l the game???

On my PS3..I can only choose like the US or Canada as my location...

No support for Caribbean as of yet...

So thus I wouldn't be able to use international credit card etc... + billing address etc. etc. etc...

You gotta watch who's making the fuss, lars. BD is not necessary at all for HD gaming, while it's a cool idea having more space, it also means more processing power is needed (CPU, GPU,RAM) to deal with the higher quality textures and such. Nothing has come close to filling a BD disc, yet. Everything that has filled it, used all the extra space for data doubling to help with the outrageous load times, or garbage data to push the important data to the center of the disc so the lens won't have to move to far, also another trick to help speed up loading.

What the hell kind of response is that? Sega did something of the sort and it was good, so no other fighting game should try to up the ante?

In my opinion, it should, because, in this version, they've kinked out several of the moves that made facing certain characters unbearable (especially Steve Fox, that son of a...)

Plus, Lilli and Dragonuv are respectable characters enough to warrant seeing on the fighting game scene. It's a shame the latter's ranked a bit low on the tier list, but I suppose that's still a challenge.

By the way....does anybody know just why Jack-5 was low tier in Tekken 5, but a High Tier in DR? I just can't figure it out....

Grabbed that tekken 5 and I gotta say, I'm shocked as to how decent it looks considering it's just an upscaled version. The poly count sucks, but for the most part it's sexy!

Hey guys I need help here!!!

My dad agree to use his credit card to hook me up with some online creds to download PS Store Items...

But when I get to after the credit card info..it asks for billing address..

The country I have selected is Canada..and you can;t change it...
Also Trinidad not available to select as a country on the network...

So please tell me how ya'll downloading Tekken 5 and thing!

I want to grab games like calling all cars and flow...

But I dunno how to bypass that address thing..

you have to enter an address in canada, when I downloaded it I used a skybox address in the US.

Because it asks for the credit card billing address... which is in Trinidad...

So you're saying that you entered an address which is not yours and that it went through? and that I could enter a fake address...and it will work?

the credit card that was used in my case had a US address attached to it. Call the bank I guess.
