The lawyer of an Israeli couple who won the right to use their dead son's sperm to inseminate a woman he never met says the case is a boost for family rights.

Irit Rosenblum told the BBC the landmark ruling meant family lines could continue even without the written consent of the male prior to death.

The dead man, soldier Keivin Cohen, was killed in the Gaza Strip in 2002.

^^  i was thinkin that , as well  ( dead sperm,live woman).. reminded me of AI, where the robots could only have brought back a dead person for one day..

what pops and dem could have done was have another child; artificially ( or naturally..LOL) inseminate someone..

to me, it reeks of selfishness on the moms part.. i coulda kinda understand if the woman havin it was the fellah wife or g/f.. but NO.. is a volunteer..  a stranger..

I feel sorry for d girl i mean she prob. getting a lot of money but SHE'S HAVING A KID FOR A DEAD GUY!!! What if she got sick or something.

What about the ramifications on a moral or religious view? yuh know how most religions feel about cloning (against it in case you didn't know) so what is this? having the child of a dead man AFTER he's dead? and not conceived BEFORE his passing. If you're the religious type... whats to say the child will even be... human...

The things people do for money, to me thats as close as it gets to selling one's soul not to mention the kind of spiritual backlash for the child i mean those places have a lot of that kind of thing going on.
