Company of Heroes
« on: October 18, 2006, 10:11:57 PM »
Newest RTS from the makers of DoW  based on World war II with a touch of realism , but similar gameplay style  . Resources are accumulated by holding points , Fuel depos for fuel (vehicles) , Ammo depos for munitions ( for upgrades and special attacks) and Manpower as your main resource to deploy troops and construct buildings .
Unlike DOW you have a 'supply line' issue going on , if you have control of a point but enemy territory seperates it from your main base , you won't get any benefit from it , making it much easier to cut off enemy resources and lock down the base in some cases. Holding strong ground is also an important part , soldiers get a major defensive bonus when they are sent to 'take cover' behind a wall or in a building , while those out in the open are dead meat, thus when storming a base, you need to move your men from cover to cover to take out MG nests and flak guns that will mow down your troops and vehicles .
Best RTS of the year so far IMO, try it!

google for screens , great graphics  but very demanding hardware wise , min spec is 512mb RAM , 2ghz cpu, Geforce 4 / Radeon 8500
