Then get one of the new Intel Macs, and dual boot Windows...only an X1600 under the hood, but that's good for a lot of games.

Be that as it may, you don't but a mercedes because you want an economical car, or a ferari, you buy it cause of the looks, and status associated. You could just as easily but a cheap mac mini (intel variety) or iMac pro which also packs a X1600 at a reasonable price, and it comes with the 17" LCD all in one saving space. But yeah macs just look better and are better designed (case, cooling, noise etc). But we all agree with you that for the same price you could build a faster rig.
