yo that thing might just work. Its logical in all coolinh way, once the warm passes throught the tubing at the back off the fan it will cuz a more cooling effect. tho in this tropical regoin that we live in it might take alot longer for this baby to work. unless you up size the project; bigger fan, more water or better yet sea water( wait that might have a funny smell in your room after a while but at least yuh cool). I might find myself doing this, have some copper in the back from the AC scraps from my days in the AC feild. Will do this for sure this summer. Let you all know how it works out.
