That is an argument we cannot win.
PC Gaming is decidedly more involved than console gaming.
Having to install the damn game in the first place, let alone drivers, directx and patches makes that a moot point.
Console gaming = enter the disc and sweat.
Case closed. No fussing about with anything. No bsod. No hardware requirements. No screwdriver to install squat.
That will appeal to 80% of the gaming populace, if not more.
Nothing wrong with that!
PC gaming appeals to the pc enthusiast crowd. The people that actually liked fussing with memmaker and devicehigh to get enough real mode memory to start their favourite dos games.
The gamers that want to tweak every ini file and graphic setting. The guys that can setup a tcpip network in their sleep. The fellas that know what AF and AA stand for. (Anisotropic Filtering and Anti Aliasing) and more importantly, knows what it looks like when implemented.
Those are the elites of the gaming world and the ones that drive it at the bleeding edge of technology (not sales figures). They won't ever be in the majority and they never were.
Nothing wrong with that!
It's like the tuner freaks that max out their cars. They are the minority, but they drive the coolest vehicles. Nevermind that the regular Automatic Hyundai Accent outsells their tricked out rigs by a land slide.
It is a matter of fact. Not a point of contention.
