6) This brings me to my biggest problem with the game thus far (and really the only one that I fin difficult to overlook). Even though in singleplayer mode you can carry 2 weapons, in multiplayer mode you are only allowed 1 !!! WTF? What is even worse is that the handgun is now treated as a primary weapon in both SP and MP so you don't even have that as a backup if you picked a sniper. So much for the enhanced realism.

OK Just a little correction here.

I can actually carry 2 weapons in MP. It seems that even though I changed the weapon select in the SP my key bindings didn't carry over to MP for some reason. and you do start with a hand gun as well.

The shotgun is a real blast and does add a new dimension to the close quarters combat.

We have found that the ledges that we used to walk on have been moved and new walkable ledges are located in other areas.

While sprinting is not yet possible in the game, the default running speed is quite adequate and we have found that jumping on the run makes you proppel slightly further than a normal standing jump.

An interesting thing has also been noticed when jumping. Since the jump button is now used also for climbing over obsticles, when you jump and narrowly miss your targeted landing point you will get the "climb over" icon on the way down. If you press jump again immediately when you see this icon then you will catch the wall and climb over it in one move.

That's about it for the differences so far but soon I will be putting up a COD2 tips thread so look out for some good strategies for my personal GAME OF THE YEAR.

climbing sounds kick ass!

I always found that was a painfully absent feature in multiplayer gaming.

Having a simple knee height box be an obstacle to a grown man, a soldier no less is just plain insulting.

Better yet if we could do a running catapult over ledges and such. Would look cool in multiplayer and less clumsy than crouch jumping.

The funny thing is, games like Herectic 2 and Tomb Raider have been doing this since 5 years ago. lol

I've played the new installment to the World War II,FPS, rip roaring franchise and so has my brother and girlfriend and I must say one word.

....amazing....

Whew that was that...anyway, the game flat out rocks.. I love it. The visuals are purely engrossing and riveting and the action is lightning fast and severly intense. As for the sound effects and music ....it is a pure aural experience. Crisp, clean and visceral. The superior sound + a pair of Logitech X-530 5.1 surround sound speakers, are a perfect marriage.

This game deserves respect and lots of props, worthy to stand up alongside this year's hits, "Resident Evil 5", "X-Men Legends 2" and hopefully when it comes out, "Star Wars Battlefront 2"

Errr...Battlefront II is available in stores since nov 1...not the quantum leap that we were hoping for...but good nonetheless.
