7.2GHZ P4 + dual cores .

Intel has *officially* announced  dual core CPU production ,   and someone got their 3.8GHZ prescott to 7.2GHZ ....

 its obvious that if the prescott weren't a scorcher , it would have been a very successful chip  , intel would be able to push out 4.5 GHZ + CPU's all now ,and force AMD to compete  .  
  I'm sure if the prescott didn't have so much trouble performing with single cores , dual cores wouldn't be released so early .  ( Q2 ! )

Dual Cores are worthless unless the program you use is mutithreaded.  Actually worse since they do share the same bus so impact  due to sharing resources like memory bandwidth etc.

Look how long HT available and how much programs actually make use of it?

At least AV field has quite a number of programs that could benefit...but then Id pick AMD duals over Intel any day.
