i meant ATI didn't release any crappy products in the last 4 - 5 years , the Rages are SUCK! The mobile versions don't even support OGL .
But since the Radeon 7000 , ATi hasn't made a product as bad as the FX series ever was .
failure in what sense? that it didnt beat ati in D9x performance? when last have you used a Nvidia card. i know alot of fx owners who'd tell you where to put that comment. firstly the 5900s are whey better than the gforce 4s and if owned any youd know. even i know this and at that time i was still using ATI. the 9800xt was a good card and ati beared it teeth with it. id own one if i didnt swear off the brand.
the fx series wasnt a corperate sucesss thats the main point.yet remember we are consumers not the media or gaming magazines. sales figures arent the key point here. the 5900ultra is still a great card. i can tell you one thing it sure didnt need a rushed driver in order to play Doom3 well and the 5200s are a very good choice over the 9200s economy wise and quality wise. also you going to get just as great opengl performance. once again about preference. so i dont know what you talking about.
