Cable Management?
« on: November 26, 2013, 07:09:23 PM »
Well this week is cable management week for me and I was about to get some supplies first, but I do not have a modular PSU (sadly) and I have two slots for case door fans. The case door fans and the PSU cables are all bundled together by the manufacturer (shame on you Ibuypower!) and I have not found/though of a way to manage these cables.. Help?   :crybaby2:  :crybaby2:

lol, the motherboard power connector is in a stupid place.

if you want to be exotic, could get an extension cable for it and then have sufficient length to run it neatly along the edge of the board to the back behind the ram with a couple of these.

Was not able to get any extension for the Power connector.. But I did achieve some cable management for the fans and everything else..

P.S I ran the fan cable alongside of the case side panel down below to the PSU.. the exhaust fan and front fans are also connected through that setup.. This uses alot of tape!!

P.S.S Temperature before Cable Management: Minimum: 47 Deg. Celsius
                                                                 Maximum: 53 Deg. Celsius
Temperature after Cable Management: Minimum 35 Deg. Celsius
                                                       Maximum: 41 Deg. Celsius

hmm, I really didn't expect any significant drop in temperature there.

good job all the same.

Hopefully you can get the extensions from Santa Claus

Nah. The ambient temps must have been different in both situations. Either that, or he reseated the CPU. There's no way moving a couple cables out of the way would result in such a huge difference in temps.

Both were in an A/C room with the same temp.. and trust me, I removed ALOT of cables out of the way.. and both were cleaned with a can of compressed air..

Kind of. In the before pic the most that happened was the cleaning, but it was cleaned before I took the pic.

A better case and a proper, modular PSU would make a world of difference here..... Just sayin.   :)
