I should point out that I did this benchmark rather hastily. Stuck them in, did scores, took them out. All in about 30 mins.

I didn't even bother to check the scores of those above me, else I'd have tried overclocking. Only just realised that there is now only about 250 points between my posted score and 2nd place. But no matter, that can be achieved later on in the year. I am more or less done with upgrades (bar hard drives) till further notice.

Also, one of the cards was not mine, and I long rip off the stock cooler on my card to stick in this massive Thermalright HR-03 GT cooler which now prevents using SLI outright.

I do suspect that newer drivers in future may improve the score in SLI.
God is dead.

I was tinkering withmy system after recovering my failed BIOS update - thank god - and managed to squeeze out a dread OC which just barely exceeds my hastily performed SLI benchmark score acouple of weeks earlier:

11834 in 3DMark06

Just goes to show that I could have - and should have - gotten a score to challenge arcman's top score

Screenshots and more detailed description to come saturday

Here be the screenshot:

Official Specs:
Asus M2N32 WS Professional (Nforce 590 chipset)
AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ (Frequency: 3.35GHz; Multiplier: 13; Voltage: 1.4V)
Crucial Ballisitx Tracer DDR2-1066 (Set to DDR2-958; Timings: 5-5-5-15; Voltage: 2.2V)
Evga E-GeForce 8800GT (Core: 700Mhz; Memory: 1000Mhz; Shader: 1750Mhz)

SM2 Score: 5545        HDR/SM3 Score: 5584        CPU: 2564

Other notes:
Motherboard FSB reached a max of 258 before 3DMark06 began to crash. The use of  Asus' AI Booster definitely helped here.
The various links (NB-SB, HT, CPU-NB) were set to x4.
I am sure I could have hit 3.45GHz, but upping the voltage to over 1.5V is scary for me...
I think my RAM may have died following this OC achievement.
Having the top CPU and GPU coolers - both by Thermalright - played their necessary role here. Idle temp were 35C on the Core, 42C on the GPU; under load both topped at 52C.

I can proudly say I have the top AMD rig, the top Workstation rig and the most powerful GPU cooler on GATT  :happy0203:

I think i'll update pics of my rig, but after I give it a very detailed cleaning...

Congrats on your rig, Sax. Especially impressed @ the oveclock on the CPU as most people can't get it past 3.2ghz.

*Wonders if he can get his AMD rig up to 3.3 GHz*

Good work.  Especially with that motherboard thing.

SInce that last post I thought to myself, "Why not go for 12000 3DMarks?"

So I did. And very nearly got it...

3DMark06 Score: 11977 (SM2: 5648;    HDR/SM3: 5626;    CPU: 2589)

Official Specs:
Asus M2N32 WS Professional (Nforce 590 chipset)
AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ (Frequency: 3.37GHz; Multiplier: 11; Voltage: 1.4V)
Crucial Ballisitx Tracer DDR2-1066 (Set to DDR2-1122; Timings: 5-5-5-15; Voltage: 2.2V)
Evga E-GeForce 8800GT (Core: 700Mhz; Memory: 1000Mhz; Shader: 1750Mhz)

Unfortunately in my bid to get 12000 I gave the RAM a tad too much voltage: 2.25V. Enough to kill it immediately. Computer won't POST and the computer even beeps to indicate a memory error. Post card give the "C1" code. Said RAM is rated/certified to run at 1066MHz at 2.2V. Fortunately I have some 'ordinary' DDR2-800 RAM to at least use said computer till I get a replacement on Ash Wednesday.

3.35GHz is the highest speed that barely allows 3DMark06 to run to completion.

Once I get  that new RAM I am going after the 12000 score. It will be very close as I am almost at the upper limits of all the overclockable components with the score I got.

P.S. Will a mod please update my score and specs??

Hmmm been months since I last updated my own benchie thread.

As you already know I jump to a position just behind all the Core 2 Quad and HD 4870 men

So here are my current spec:

Abit IP-35 Pro XE motherboard
Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 (3.0GHz stock)
Crucial 2 x 2GB 'standard' RAM at 6-6-6-18
Diamond Radeon HD4870 512MB
WD 320GB HDD
Samsung SATA DVD-RW
ATI Theater 550 Pro TV Card.

Reposting scores:
3DMark06 Score: 15251
CPU: 6470
SM 2.0: 7838
SM 3.0: 3326
