US$15 a month??That's like 4 games on steam.I won't have time to play those that I already purchased, let alone rent more.I'll pass
I dont think there should be a 'cost involved'.There are collaborative consumption efforts all the time.It takes some measure of trust, but it can work...UNless we're talking a system where we consistently put in x amt of dollars per month, and have that $ used to buy the latest games based on 'membership rating' and yuh begin. but when u look at games like skyrim that take a bajillion hrs to play.. 1 copy eh go whet everybody appetite, and if i have to wait 6months i.e 6x amt of dollars i might as well buy it mehself.
What my concern about this is why it's being payed for in USD and not TT? I supposed it is some marketing ploy of course, $15 looks more appealing than $100. There's also the matter of security, how my personal info is being stored and used. Always skeptical about that.We also find that, at least from personal observations as well as those from others, people in Trinidad tend to stick to 1 genre of game. 2 or 3 for the rare cases. A man that plays fifa, will mainly play fifa. Someone who is into fighters will play his respective fighter. Same thing with shooters or racers. Be honest with yourself, MOST of us stick to one or the other. Rarely do u find a gamer who crosses genres and invests large amounts of time equally across the board. So you already have or will buy the game you love and play the most. What would be good to know is the market research they did for such a venture. In the US its viable since you have not hundreds or thousands but millions of gamers. Here we amount to a couple thousand, most of which are scattered across 4 platforms. The PC goers wouldn't go for this service cuz well, there are other means to acquire games. Modded console users as well. So hmmmm....
