Capitalism: A Love Story

I watched this documentary the other day, it's the latest one from Michael Moore. I did not know what to expect and after watching it I really wonder was communism such an evil after all? In it he shows the disparity between rich and poor, removal of regulations to make foreclosures easier as well as the disturbing connection between big government and financial institutions. What really shocked me was the point raised about airline pilots making less than a manager in Mcdonalds. I dunno about you but I would think that someone flying a plane for a commercial airline would be paid pretty well. In summary this documentary was about debt. Anyone else saw this film?

so prior to watching this you thought communism was the great evil the USA has made it out to be?
Do yourself a favour and read up on socialism and communism.. not about socialist or communist countries, but socialism and communism.

I'll be honest and say that I've never done in depth research on communism and socialism. The most I've gotten from economics classes and textbooks is how communism is good on paper but pretty difficult to implement and control. I always remember the case in the USSR where shortages in consumer goods were rampant and many finished goods were of low quality. Then again how could a system where the rich get richer while the poor get poorer be seen as a good thing.....ah well.

in some parts of the states (and europe) people commute on airplanes daily. More akin to a bus or ptsc with wings. Not transatlantic flights.

They aren't exactly gonna rake in the big bucks for such "mundane" transit.

Capitalism is good if more people get rich and less people get poor.

I heard some stats saying that there are more millionares in the world than before. Not sure if there are more poor. anyone could find some stats so we can compare. Say some 1995 vs 2005 stats?
