just a question to all the ppl here who have in some way modded an 8800 GT single slot card, is the plastic outer part of the hs able to separate from the actual hs ?

yup is removable, there is glue like all under it though so you hadda use some force, there was a felt type thing i suspect was there to do nothing more than make life hard, undo from the side with fewer clips first seems easier.
