Where is the best place to get hardware on the net???
« on: October 07, 2003, 11:25:49 PM »
I have tried a number of on-line stores, but most of them don't take international credit cards. I've found one so far, Essential Computers INC (NY).Pirces not that bad and rated verygood with resellerratings.com. If you guys have any other stores to add that would be good.
For me and other users that would like to get the best gaming hardware at a price that we can afford...

Just use www.pricewatch.com they list the sites that ship internationaly with a little white ball next to their name so you know who you can buy from.

Also... use www.resellerraqtings.com to make sure the people you are looking at are reputable.

Just compared buy.co.tt with essencompu.com. Buy sells a 1800+ cpu for 540TT that's OEM (not fan).Essen sells for 65.89US retail(about 415TT)If you have a good skybox service shipping very small.Still won't cost you $540. The 65.89US is with free shipping too!!
I find it cheper to buy from the US ( computer parts that is).

In the customer service sections of their websites, essencompu.com, newegg.com and ateck.com state that they do not accept international credit cards:

essencompu.com:
"We cannot accept:

    * Personal checks
    * CODs
    * Credit cards registered outside the United States, Canada, and Alaska."

ateck.com:
" Paying by Credit Cards
We gladly accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express credit cards. Please note that we will only accept credit cards issued by a bank or other financial institution within the U.S. with verifiable references."

newegg.com:
"What method of payment does Newegg.com accept?
• Visa
• MasterCard
• Discover
• American Express
• Prepaid Company Check, Personal Check, Cashier Check or Money Order
  (Note: All Prepaid Orders will take longer to process due to all checks must cleared, including Cashier's Check due to the existence of fraudulent checks.)
• No Purchase Order, Fax, and C.O.D. orders please.
Sorry, No International Credit Card.

End quote

If this wrong please let us know.

ibuyer.net is a search engine like pricewatch, they do list those that accept international orders, however, this usually means international shipping, not necessarily that they accept international credit cards (money order, US$ bank draft).

I have bought from, aclcomputers.com (you must fax authorisation for skybox), pcinfinity.net (I think their policy has changed since) and USSA.com, however stay away from them, see resellerratings.com. By the way amazon.com sells computer hardware, although their options are limited.

Well Trinigamer I have bought 2 items from essen on two occasions and it has been accepted. They called me up the first time to get my bank info ( royal bank).Then ordered again from them with no problem.
Don't know about the others.
