Well i looking into getting me a NAS soon, I need a relatively high amount of storage fast. (>=400GB)
Got the drives chosen already, a few Seagate 500GB sata2s, but I'm in a pinch as to what NAS to get, I allocated about a 150-200US for the NAS alone, as this is going to be my primary storage (videos/music/etc).
So I wanted to know what you guys have run into. What brands you think are worth seriously looking at. I had my eye on a D-Link but i read some not so stellar reviews on its sturdiness that put me off. Now I not saying it need to be reinforced in concrete but as sturdy as the avg computer case would do (avg not-el-cheapo case I should say)
I'm trying not to cross the 200US mark here (god willing), however, feature dependent, I may consider ones under 300.
This is what it must have:
1.SATAII
2.Raid 0/1
3.Some decent read and writes
needs first, I know most have FTP and all that jazz so i watching that second.
hit meh with a few responses let me know what yuh think.
btw I did look up freenas
