I watched Continuum , i enjoyed it more than the Ark of Truth.. Goa 'uld were always more sinister enemies than the Ori . 

 Half of stargate's lore was ad libbed and retconned to make the series last long... If you go back and watch the original Stargate movie , you'll see that the Goa'uld's original design was more of  'Roswell gray' like what the Asgard became.
