Aiming for a 'cheap' Core 2 Quad? Read this first

The article basically looks who is better: a max OC Core 2 Duo (E6750) or a max OC Core 2 Extreme (QX6850)?

While some may argue that Core 2 Quad is "future-proofing", but after reading it,  and based on my usual PC tasks, I will hold off on a Core 2 Quad for the moment..

Come on, Sax...you're telling me that you'll pass up a quad core (q6600) for under $300us? I doubt.

Given the choice between a quad core and a dual core, my choice will always have to lean towards the quad. Sure there's the fact that games and most apps wont be able to take advantage of the extra cores, but I look at it like this...

"hey, with four cores, I can use them all to fold...thats a b1tchin amount of folding going on there. Or, I can use two to fold, one to encode those avi's to vob's and still freak Lost Planet of maybe even Graw2"

So yeah...give me my quad core please.

Right now it might be better to buy the cheapest Core 2 and overclock... next year when games come out that need the 4 cores and the quad core comes down in price it will be worth it.. you can just sell over the core 2.

Well, you already know my feelings on the subject...

Quad-core biatches!!!

CPUs I dont buy often.  Video cards yes, but not CPUs.  When I buy a CPU,
I don't want to buy one for a while so...
