Bosses use Facebook to snoop on employees

Plus universities are a challenge

THE THUNDERER has devoted most of page three of its latest august issue to lay bare snoops who use Facebook to pry into the affairs of their charges.

According to the report in The Times, Oxford University staff hunt through Facebook to find undergraduate malpractices and then dole out fines to their unwitting victims.

And it's not just academic thought police who are snooping. A survey, claimed the newspaper, showed that one of five British companies study the appalling social network to see if potential employees reveal a side of themselves that isn't on their CVs.

Worse, British PR company Brands 2 Life (sic) has rejected would be spinners on the basis of comments made on the appalling social network. Facebook, as far as we are aware, is not a client of Brands 2 Life (sic). µ

it's the same story with Hi5, myspace... and all other social networking sites

had a ethics question in class on this a couple terms aback ( employers checkin the net about prospective employees)

people think oh, is the net.. is millions of pages.. billions even... who go see it, besides my friends?
