Chris Benoit Gave Child Growth Hormone, Vince McMahon Releases Texts
By Julie Pike
Jun 27, 2007

It has been revealed that WWE wrestler Chris Benoit was injecting his son Daniel with human growth hormone.  Daniel was killed by his father this weekend.  Chris Benoit also killed his wife Nancy and then hanged himself in the tragic case.  At the crime scene, Benoit's son was found with needle marks in his arm.  The district attorney believes that Benoit killed his kid by placing him in a chokehold.

The steroid charges are not going away despite a stern warning from Vince McMahon and the WWE to not sensationalize the case.  It has been reported Benoit took steroids throughout his career as he was worried about losing work due to his size. One source told the UK Sun:  "This was decades and decades of steroid use with no cycling - even when undergoing neck surgery." And that's not healthy in any way."

Meanwhile Vince and the WWE released this timeline of events began Saturday: On Saturday, June 23, Benoit was slated to appear at a WWE live event in Beaumont, Texas. That afternoon, Benoit contacted WWE to inform them his wife and child were ill, and that he would not be able to attend.

WWE executives rebooked Benoit's flight for the following morning, allowing Benoit to attend a pay-per-view event in Houston on Sunday. WWE employees attempted to confirm with Benoit his travel plans but were unable to contact him.

Meanwhile Vince and the WWE released this timeline of events began Saturday:

On Saturday, June 23, Benoit was slated to appear at a WWE live event in Beaumont, Texas.

***

Early Sunday morning, between 3:51 and 3:58 a.m., Benoit sent five text messages to co-workers: Text Message 1 to two co-workers (sent 6/24 at 3:53 a.m.)- Chris Benoit's cell phone:

"My physical address is 130 Green Meadow Lane, Fayetteville Georgia. 30215''

Text Message 2 to two co-workers (sent 6/24 at 3:53 a.m.)- Chris Benoit's cell phone: "The dogs are in the enclosed pool area. Garage side door is open''

Text Message 3 to two co-workers (sent 6/24 at 3:54 a.m.)- Nancy Benoit's cell phone: "My physical address is 130 Green Meadow Lane. Fayetteville Georgia. 30215''

Text Message 4 to two co-workers (sent 6/24 at 3:55 a.m.)- Nancy Benoit's cell phone: "My physical address is 130 Green Meadow Lane. Fayetteville Georgia. 30215''

Text Message 5 to one co-worker (sent 6/24 at 3:58 a.m.)- Nancy Benoit's cell phone: "My address is 130 Green Meadow Lane. Fayetteville Georgia. 30215''

***

Throughout the day on Sunday, WWE made numerous attempts to contact Benoit both at home and at local hospitals in the Atlanta area. As of 11 p.m., WWE officials were unable to establish contact with Benoit.

At 12:30 p.m. Monday, WWE officials were notified of the text messages sent to the co-workers the previous day. By 12:45 p.m., WWE had contacted the Fayetteville County Sheriff's office, requesting they check on the Benoit family.

***

The sheriff's office made contact with WWE at approximately 4 p.m., advising that they had entered the house of Benoit and found three deceased bodies -- an adult male, adult female and a male child. WWE was told Benoit's home was now considered a crime scene.

The decision to cancel the live event scheduled in Corpus Christi, Texas, that night was made between 4 and 5 p.m. In keeping with company policy and with limited knowledge regarding facts of the case, WWE chose to air a memorial dedicated to the career of Benoit. As facts emerged surrounding the case, all tributes to Benoit were removed both on-air and on WWE.com.

dont know what human growth hormone with steroids does psychologically, but this could have been an ingredient in this unfortunate event.

Does HGH have side effects?

Studies have shown that elevated levels of HGH can lead to swelling of the soft tissues in the body; abnormal growth of the hands, feet and face; high blood pressure; an increased tendency to sweat and excessive hair growth

didnt benoit hav lots of hair and those commentators called him the rabid wolverine

maybe it had sum kind of psychological effect on him too....bcuz sumthing must be wrong for u to jus kill your family an commit suicide

OK i was doin sum reading on steriods an side effects...these are sum that may related to this incident

+ mood swings, including anger, aggression, and depression
+ seeing or hearing things that aren't there (hallucinations)
+ extreme feelings of mistrust or fear (paranoia)

Quote
Steroids can also have serious psychological side effects. Some users become aggressive or combative, developing "roid rage" — extreme, uncontrolled bouts of anger caused by long-term steroid use.

WWE's McMahon Addresses Benoit Tribute

By James Hibberd

Updated at 7:57 a.m., June 27, 2007.

WWE Chairman Vince McMahon issued a statement Tuesday regarding pro wrestler Chris Benoit. Authorities believe the wrestler killed his wife and 7-year-old son and then himself over the weekend.

Mr. McMahon addressed viewer complaints about the franchise’s three-hour USA Network tribute to Mr. Benoit and called for “the first step of the healing process.”

A WWE spokesman said Mr. McMahon also would read the statement for fans on Sci Fi Channel’s Extreme Championship Wrestling later Tuesday evening.

"Last night on 'Monday Night Raw,' the WWE presented a special tribute show, recognizing the career of Chris Benoit” in the wake of his death, Mr. McMahon said in his statement. “However, now some 26 hours later, the facts of this horrific tragedy are now apparent. Therefore, other than my comments, there will be no mention of Mr. Benoit tonight. On the contrary, tonight's show will be dedicated to everyone who has been affected by this terrible incident This evening marks the first step of the healing process. Tonight, the WWE performers will do what they do better than anyone else in the world--entertain you."

The WWE canceled its regularly scheduled "Monday Night RAW" event on USA Network Monday and aired a tribute to Mr. Benoit in its place. The WWE and USA Network received criticisms of the special, which was produced after Mr. Benoit, his wife and their son were found dead in their Georgia home Monday afternoon.

Authorities said Tuesday that Mr. Benoit strangled his wife and suffocated his son, then took his own life. But WWE representatives maintained they were unaware of the circumstances of Mr. Benoit's death when the tribute was assembled.

The WWE plans to resume its regular wrestling telecasts, which air on USA Network, Sci Fi Channel and the CW.

Earlier, the WWE issued a statement protesting media speculation that Mr. Benoit may have acted out of "roid rage." Prescription anabolic steroids were found in the wrestler's home. The statement noted the drugs were legal and that toxicology tests have not been completed.

"WWE strongly suggests that it is entirely wrong for speculators to suggest that steroids had anything to do with these senseless acts, especially when the authorities plainly stated there is no evidence that Benoit had steroids in his body, pending the toxicological reports, and that they had no evidence at this time as to the motive for these acts," read the statement.

Now, personally, I don't really see the need for the WWE to apologize- I mean....when you think about it, at the time, who knew? I don't really think people should knack the WWE for paying a tribute to Benoit, primarily because they didn't know what really went down.

As for the steroid injection issue?
That's just.....insanely weird. I have absolutely no idea why somebody would take it upon themself to just snap and start injecting a kid with steroids. That's just sick, and that's why I'm very confused right now. The whole incident just reeks of so many things that we never thought Benoit would have even been capable of. Even in retrospect, it doesn't make sense- you have a steady job, are extremely popular with the fans, and have a family- why throw that all away by going absolutely nuts and killing your entire family?

Ack...my head hurts just thinking about it. All I know is, this whole incident is just sick and wrong, and I'd be damn surprised if some conspiracy theories didn't arise from this.

I'm curious...

What was his trigger? What caused this obvious psychosis to set in?

I don't know...none of this seems like a guided and cognisant thought. I don't think he really "chose" to do any of this.

What can you do to end the hunger?
It's no surprise that many will die with the coming shortage of food
When there is no grain to feed the butchered cows
When there is nothing to feed yourselves...
Then you will see that money can't be eaten.

Ok so nobody finds it strange tha WWE had a memorial tribute set up so fast and i find the whole mountain of evidence pointing to murder suicide a little convenient. I'm not a wrestling fan but i find it hard to believe that a man like that would just trip off suddenly. I could be wrong but that is what i think.

They did it (a memorial) just as fast when Owen died.

Not really, no.

In Chris Benoit's case, though, I find this very strange:

Detailed WWE/Benoit timeline
Written: June 26, 2007Below is a detailed WWE/Chris Benoit timeline from Saturday to Monday:

Saturday, June 23, 2007

Chris Benoit was scheduled to appear at the WWE SmackDown/ECW live event in Beaumont, Texas.

3:30 p.m.
A co-worker received a voice message from Benoit. The message from Benoit stated he missed his flight and overslept, and would be late to the WWE live event. The co-worker called Benoit back, Benoit confirmed everything he said in his voice message and sounded tired and groggy. Benoit then stated, “I love you.” The co-worker stated that it was “out of context.”

3:42 p.m.
The same co-worker was concerned with Benoit’s tone and demeanor and called Benoit for a second time. Benoit did not answer the call and the co-worker left a message stating “just call me back.”

3:44 p.m.
Benoit called the co-worker back stating he didn’t answer the call because he was on the phone with Delta changing his flight. Benoit stated he had a real stressful day due to Nancy and Daniel being sick with food poisoning. They discussed travel plans for the WWE tour of Texas with Benoit still sounding groggy at this point according to the co-worker.

4:30 p.m.
A co-worker who consistently travels with Benoit, called Benoit from outside Houston airport and Benoit answered. Benoit told the co-worker that Nancy was throwing up blood and that Daniel was also throwing up. Benoit thought they had food poisoning. Benoit stated he changed his flight and he would be arriving into Houston at 6:30 p.m. Benoit told the co-worker to drive onto the WWE event.

5:35 p.m.
Benoit called WWE Talent Relations stating that his son was throwing up and that he and Nancy were in the hospital with their son, and that Benoit would be taking a later flight into Houston, landing late, but would make the WWE live event in Beaumont.

6:10 p.m.
A representative of Talent Relations called Benoit. The representative from Talent Relations asked Benoit what time Benoit was getting into Beaumont. Benoit responded he was leaving Atlanta at 9:20 p.m. Eastern time, arriving into Houston at 9:24 p.m. Central time. The representative from Talent Relations advised Benoit that it would be too late to make the WWE live event in Beaumont. Benoit apologized citing he had a family emergency. The representative from Talent Relations suggested to Benoit that instead of going to the WWE live event in Beaumont, Benoit should take the flight to Houston, rest up and be ready for the Vengeance Pay-Per-View event.

6:13 p.m.
The representative from Talent Relations called Benoit to reconfirm the travel plans with no answer from Benoit. The representative from Talent Relations left a voice message to take the flight and rest up.

Sunday, June 24, 2007

Text messages sent to co-workers from Chris Benoit and Nancy Benoit’s cell phones:

From: Benoit’s cell phone
When: 6/24 at 3:53 a.m.

Text Message 3
Sent to: Two co-workers (the same who had verbal correspondence with Benoit the day before)

When: 6/24 at 3:54 a.m.
Message: C, S. My physical address is 130 Green Meadow Lane. Fayetteville Georgia. 30215

Text Message 4
Sent to: Two co-workers (the same who had verbal correspondence with Benoit the day before)
From: Nancy Benoit’s cell phone
When: 6/24 at 3:55 a.m.
Message: C, S. My physical address is 130 Green Meadow Lane. Fayetteville Georgia. 30215

Text Message 5
Sent to: A co-worker who consistently traveled with Benoit
From: Nancy Benoit’s cell phone
When: 6/24 at 3:58 a.m.
Message: My address is 130 Green Meadow Lane. Fayetteville Georgia. 30215

WWE made several attempts to contact Benoit via phone and text messages, as well as the local hospitals in the Atlanta area. As of 11 p.m. Sunday night there was no contact made with Benoit.

Monday, June 25, 2007

12:30 p.m.
WWE was notified of text messages sent to the two co-workers.

12:45 p.m.
WWE contacted the Fayette County Sheriff’s office and requested them to go to Benoit’s residence.

4 p.m.
WWE received a call from the Fayette County Sheriff’s office, advising that they entered
the house of Benoit and found three deceased bodies (a male, a female and a child). The Fayette County Sheriff’s office has secured the house as a “major crime scene” and that the Fayette County Sheriff’s office had no further information.

Food poisoning attacks? Given the ways Nancy and Daniel both died, I find that very odd. Now I'm dying to see the toxicology reports.

I don't even find that remotely strange. You're a GIANT media corp that is more or less trained in the art of spin and diversion. It's -really- not that hard.
What can you do to end the hunger?
It's no surprise that many will die with the coming shortage of food
When there is no grain to feed the butchered cows

Benoit was a great wrestler and a good friend to many, but it's hard to mourn a guy who commits suicide after murdering his entire family. i will reserve my opinions of him until everything is confirmed though.

I was i big fan too, I feel I will do the same.

I watched that Glen Beck show last night on CNN, they had some Doctor on there that specializes in sports medicine and psychology.  He pretty much said that it would not be something attributed to "roid rage" but that the use of anabolic steroids (especially when "stacking them" following a period when they couldn't be used, as in to hide usage from a test) when coupled with other prescription drugs and painkillers COULD have a psychotic effect to them...leading to periods weeks where the individual would be out of touch with reality and would over-react to everything...the doctor also said the bible placement next to the corpses was also a clear signal of deep mental instability and confusion.  He also talked about the boy's injection marks....saying that no reputable doctor would prescribe growth steroids at his age....
I'd believe u if you were right.
