I think ATi's focus this time around is the technology (for future applications) and not real-world, pre DX10, raw performance.
I hope all these reviewers do the same comparisons a year from now when Vista is ironed out.  Then we shall see what the real
deal is with these 2900s.

You're kidding, right? By the time christmas rolls around, Nvidia will be launching their g92 gpu's that has some outlandish specs such as I Teraflops and most likely in less than a year's time DAAMIT would have released their r700 cards, which is rumored to use multiple gpu's instead of one big gpu. Distributed gpu's iwmc!!.

Don't get me wrong.  I meant they should do this exact same comparison (next year) with this exact same hardware.  Not the new stuff thats
sure to be out by that time.

    can't call the race over yet till DX10 games are prevalent enough  to  do an objective comparison between them   .   I waiting myself for  the next gen , or at least a die shrink so that  i can get 8800GTX performance at a 200 ish price.

As usual unrealistic whims... you'll have to wait till the next gen of cards are out and the performance of a 8800GTX is on par with the next gen MID-Range... aka 2 years... come on man

Unrealistic whims is right, but in any event, with those cards running now, yall could both play the waiting game for at least another 6 months until nvidia releases their next gen to see what's what. Me on the other hand came from radeon xpress 200m...aka $h!ttastic graphics.
