Back home, I actually felt shame when i realized that the general public, voted by race. The US is a little different. They're more torn by party - extremes of conservatism and liberalism. Most democrats will vote democrat, simply because of their belief in those extremes. People in the middle get the shaft. Don't get me wrong - race will play a part - but IF he's nominated, it becomes an extremist debate.

My belief is it's stupid to have a party based on an extreme with regards to general decision making. Vote for the guy that will help the country progress - when an extreme end believer - ultra conservative, ultra liberal gets elected, decisions made reflect the few extremists' desires, not the country, i.e. the main failing of democratic society.
