smf is pretty secure, as its old as hell. that being said- it's old as hell and hasnt had anything much new added since- years ago.

League support staff after about a week of different test logs and test, told me the issue is with the way Flow routes the data to their server they need to fix that. Can you pass that on to the techincans at flow?

This is true. Thankfully, a VPN, as OP suggested, would use different routing and fix the disconnects. The only trade off would be slightly higher latency.
 (And I doubt Flow is going to change their routing based on a few customers complaining about a single game, sadly)
