Why not just use
apt get or better yet, urpmiQoute from Google groups: "You can simply use your Mandrake discs for install sources of course, but a much better way is to go to: http://plf.zarb.org/~nanardon/urpmiweb.php and follow the easy instructions to setup urpmi with all the sources you need. Then to install something instead of typing: apt-get mozilla just type: urpmi mozilla (or urpmi -v mozilla for verbose output, which I prefer) It will go get the latest rpm that will work with your Mandrake version along with any other packages necessary to satisfy dependencies, install everything and you're set, just like apt-get. If for some reason it can't do the install, it tells you why. It's very good, but like apt-get of course not 100% perfect."> > > > Noob question here guys > > > > I have a Dell client running mandrake 10 official. > > I uninstalled Mozilla 1.6 and one of the supporting > > packages that it needed. > > I downloaded Mozilla 1.7 and tried to install it but > > it's giving me an error > > cannot create directory usrlocalmozilla > > > > Somebody walk me through the steps please > > > > Thanks > > > > Dev ------------------------ Yahoo!
