whoa whoa whoa! so guys, after my first festival experience..i actually manage to get sunburnt in England (how i pull off dat one?). We had blessed sun all day until night time when Metallica came on but I am jumping de gun. Yep, well since this is a slipknot thread I will stick to the Slipknot. They are great live. great great and it was the closest I got to the stage for the whole day cause you know i gyal scared of the violent white boys moshing, oh what with me and a videocamera that dont belong to me and all. I get fling around quite a bit though and narrowly missed catching a drumstick pelt out in de crowd but about 5 men jump on that and had to fight it out. They played a good hour long set and had hits from de first album like Spit it out and wait and bleed and the national anthem and one other i cant remember the name right now and then duality and a scattering of other songs i know not the names of. Well it was brutal anyhow. Metallica played later on way after sunset and i only mention them to say that well it started to rain during Fade to Black, and also that Lars was sick so guess who was one of de drummers to come and back them up? None other than Slipknot's Joey who played Creeping Death and Wherever I may roam for them. Yeah it was awesome.

What a strange strange lil thread this is! I saw Whalerider. The poor lil kid lost out to Charlize Theron at the Oscars didn't she? Whalerider had a nice family (i would be tempted to say 'disney' but that would be corrupting the film) feel to it. I saw it quite a while back so I can't really remember much except that it leaves you with a nice warm feeling afterwards. whales rock!

oh and screw all you stoopid wannabe-Pai trinis who hacked up and vandalised that poor beached whale in Trinidad de other day! You suck!

ermmm hello to all...hey waggy! yuh know i hadda bounce in de scene here and put in my two cents (or pence in my case) the local underground rock scene isnt so underground anymore and props to all de bands who trying and getting exposure and all. yes yes some are better than others, and everyone has their different styles but don't be dissing all local rock. Trinidad's got quality musicians and really dedicated fans. If you haven't heard of any of the above mentioned bands then you really not into de scene at all and only hear lil pieces on de radio like TAF and Incert and Sky. you probably would not have understood that email at all. and even though it is very stereotypical i guess, it still is kinda true and was very funny to me at least. but still props to all the bands. Overdose ent break up as far as i know but if de guitarist away then they just on a break ent? and aaron drummin for cobo, necro and whoever else need a hand when they need it. although there is of course some rivalry due to diiferent skill levels and genres, i think altogether everyone is supportive of each other. foreign bands yeh, i mean after years and years of practice , they sounding good and they making it. but everyone starts off sounding like crap and playing in a garage or a basement or an abandoned gym etc and havin to put up with people putting them down at some point or another.
i think if you think that all local bands are crap and you only listen to the foreign bands then you really not being supportive of what your country has to offer and local talent etc. you just not gettin de vibes.
i mean, i been away for a while now and i hear lotsa bands live i never would have thought i would and wow it is blowmind! but i ent forgetting my peeps back home in trinidad and i still keep up to date with everything that going on because in de end trinidad is my home and these people are my friends, and they have talent.

anyhow i kinda rambling so i gonna stop rite dey.

Ole Talk / Hello! guess who!?!
« on: January 15, 2004, 02:44:51 PM »
Heya guys! thanks for all the warm welcomes (and challenges). Unfortunately I won't be able to make it to any tournaments or LAN parties etc for quite a while. Yeah I've had my share of stress over the last six months but I just haven't had the drive or company to game hardcore really.
So have any girls joined GATT since I left?
And hey Waggy, Blood Red Clover is playing in Tasca Latina opposite Lapeyrouse Cemetery on January 24th with Sentiments of Tishri (a new emo band..and guess who is the drummer..sorry, i'm sworn to secrecy..so get your bum there and find out for yourself!). You should definitely catch this gig!!! Yes yes, even though I am faaar away i am still on top of the rock scene in Trinidad. And I'm seeing such good gigs here too! I don't want to rub it in so I won't tell you who unless you really wanna know. I somehow let Machinehead slip by though (dam)
Anyhow, a hello to those of you i don't know..and big hugs for all the gatters i know and love.  see ya soon

hello hello all!!!

my my how things have changed much around here! Many of you probably thought I got abducted or something. Well I'm popping in to say hi..and umm..how de heck do I get my avatar back??? I'm not too bad I guess, if you were wondering. Pros and cons to everything. My skills are quite rusty as I haven't gamed in any form or fashion in 6 months. But if I polish up the old sniper rifle and peer down that beautiful scope I'm sure I'll feel that certain something back in my fingers. Happy New Year to you all and it's nice that 'De Pit' is up and running *sniff*. Frag you later!
