why so many people want nintendo to just cave in and give up?
Nintendo is still a very comfortable company with 17% north american market, 22 % european market and 30% in Japan (consoles). Plus they own the handheld market.
I am not a nintendo "fan boy" but i rate nintendo because my most memorable console gaming experiences has been on nintendo systems from my nes to my cube. think about it people it Nintendo folds a huge chunk of the gaming world will be lost and we will be left to suffer with overhyped but underwhelming titles on the other two systems....don't get me wrong I also own the other two systems but there just always seem to be something missing in many of these games, two in recent memory is Halo 2 and God of war....my complaint with halo 2 is it feels like the same game with a couple new weapons and damn we are being invaded and it feels like it's not all that serious, God of War starts out as a marvelous game but after the first couple stages it gets lost in hype. My nintendo titles on the other hand I am still playing metroid prime 1 n 2, smash bros melee, wind waker, mario kart and the best current gen game RE4.
Memorable xbox titles include fable and forza and on the ps2 i like gt4 and fighting games. Dremcast died cuz they spend millions to make and promote it but released at a bad time plus unlike microsoft and sony, sega (and nintendo for that matter) doesn't have a primary (yes primary) business to absorb losses...did you know that microsoft loss millions from the current xbox?

Nintendo should not be put to death and should stop being made fun of for being/thinking different

don't like nintendo (rev, cube, gba, ds etc)? focus on you super powerful systems from microsoft and sony....thats why people have choices and it would be rather boring if all the choices were the same
