Even if there were 15000rpm, getting them @ 160gb? Come on.... I wouldnt mind being shown a link for the said drive, It will only aid to enchance my knowledge.
w1ntry> I think you memory failed. Invest in some ECC. Maximum capacity for the 10000 drives is 74GB, there are raiding options. Would you like a screen shot, On Alienware homesite?
Sorry guys my n00bie tolerance is low today.
Jdcrys, are you fronting? if not, provide a link for the said items. Dont do like Bushman and say your drive costs US$300 when it really only costs half that. In the end you will beniefit by not making yourself look like a n00b infront professionals.
Trini> Yes Server class machines have more powerful hardware (generally) but they almost always lack a powerful videocard and in many cases come with it onboard to save that hassle. A true server class machine isnt meant to 'sweat' on but rather be used for its higher quantity or RAM/ More powerful CPU/s.
That videocard you linked is used in rendering 3d animation for movies like toystory, incredibles (Pixar films stuff). As in the user review stated they are not meant for gaming.

The fastest commercial sata/ide drives are @ 10,000 and called raptors (as czar mentioned) however their maximum capacity is 74gbs (thereabout).
If indeed Jdcrys has
"2 sata maxtor hd 160gig each @ 15000rpm"
Or even 2 SCSI, how are you getting a 15000 SCSI drive @ 160GBs. ______________________________________________________
Im sorry JDcrys if these are indeed your specs you spent your money unwizely. Huge monitor, way expensive hdds.. You own VZ?? Ill make a stop in one day and put a face to this nick.

When purchasing such drives heat is always an issue, maybe you should consider a decent HDD cooler from vantec or some other reputable cooling company. I am able to cool my std 7200 drive by 20C using one. I did I think your idea of 'cooling everything' isnt wize Shinkuu, cool the device that needs the cooling asap, A lil quote from a song Ordinary people "Take it slow"

There is a modchip that has these features built in. If you have the HDD for the PS2 you can even load linux and run 'any' xvid player from there.

Busman is that the raptor sata 36.7Gb drive? If its indeed the harddrive why not try and update your sata controller drivers (Nvidia Nforce) or check MSI homepage, they have some kinda auto-updater thing that should provide assistance. I have had experiences with non-updated sata controller drivers that cause corruption of data over time and resulted in the same blue screen. This was a Via Southbridge I believe ..8527 you are on nvidia but its worth a shot and save you some shipping costs.
If you did indeed pay US$300 for the drive Im sad to say you got robbed buddy. The superior 74GB version which supports NCQ (i believe), costs <$200 US and unless you and the customs officer had a quarrel no way you gonna pay US$100 in duty for a HDD.

As the others suggested please buy a new PSU, who configured that system anyways? seems like it was 'patched' together over the years. I can tell that alot about the configurer just by the specs.

Interesting indeed, Please keep me informed as to how stable your voltages are when you do the overhaul, im always interested in finding out how much a 'brand' name PSU affect voltages and overall performance.
Whats the brand name on your PSU? (i know its generic but they still got some brand usually)

Your wattages are accurate (75watt pci-x) but those wattages are only theoretical and the board itself takes some wattage, something that wasnt catered for. In your current rig using some of those 'monitoring programs' have you noticed any drop in voltages?

I strongly disagree with resepct to your PSU having enough juice. Running a burner and how many hdds? I dont mean to discourage...but...

The DFI board is 140 someplace...Its one if not the BEST 939 board out there. SLI without the price. Hmm @ AMD64 price seems you may be purchasing a NewCastle or Winchester(prefered) OEM.. and I see you have included a 2ndary cooler (for OCing of course). With respect you your Power Supply what do you got? Dont forget that you will need a converter to change a std 20pins to 24pins if your PSU is older. Fortunately all the video cards that require the standard 6pin power jack, ship a converter. I advise checking out a truepower/purepower PSU its necessary.. There i go blabbing again and I dont even know what you got. Aim for a Rev E or winchester dude, judging from the performance of the semprons (new ones) even with a lower level 2 cache the new memory controller more than makes up for it. 90nm is mandatory

ITs really the videocards that are hindering performance. I was lead to believe that the following were the specs from VZ
2.0 Ghz 256 DDR Ram 40Gig HD GeForce FX5200 128 MB Vids
Is that an AMD chip? if so its actual throughput would be greater than 2.0GHz
*Sighs* Do you sweat at Java and CG as mentioned on your site trini?

K well though I cant base your problem on a singular fault Ill make an effort.
You have low ram and windows XP is ram hungry, though 256 is sufficient is just that. What is more than likely happening even though no tasks are being your OS is being run and yes that uses ram also. NAV 2k5 and NPF are sort of hungry also, thats why many developers choose not to have them installed. I would advise (1) a lighter AV (maybe AVG from grisoft) light, reliable and frequent updates.
There is thing called virtual memory, which is used as a method to increase your ram. It doesnt really do that but it uses your HDD as a temp storage for the memory. In the case of opening an application that requires more ram thany ou have physically it will store some of these on your harddrive and them swap them into memory when needed. Since your ram is low, this is going to be utilized more often. Suggestion (2) defrag if your HD head is moving like crazy trying to get a sector here a sector there, a defrag should put them all in 1 nice cluster.
I noticed that you were considering purcahsing some SD-RAM rated @ pc 133 (yes ppl i know ddr is sd ram also) is this the type of ram you got? If so thats some old stuff, though I wouldnt put down the ram type, its old but can do the task and i wouldnt count it as being a significant cause of your problem. However the ram QUANTITY is a problem, suggestion (3) please buy that 512 stick it will help you out alot.
When last have you formatted? suggestion (4) If push comes to shove do a nice total format of your machine, its like a purge for a PC. It is recommended to format your machine every now and then, the actual time frame is based on usage.
Please watch out for bittorrent, its the #1 cause for defragmentation, if you should use it configure it properly and you should experience less fragmentation.

Woo, Site Admin Baego you have excellent skills with the use of adverbs I do have an original copy of HL2 and thus CS Source. Im on dialup for the while until tstt decides to grace me by installing my dsl. I already got the specs of the Trincity cafe and unfortunately I wouldnt go there due to their understandably high rate and of couse the machine specs. This Arima location which im sure my parents wouldnt permit to go is named Emanutech? are their specs up to par with the Source engine? If so please list em. Trini where are you from? I checked your site trinigamer s.com awesome stuff, I didnt know your clan was so into CS Source and Frozen Throne!!! are you even local? your accomplishments have me in shock. You should put it in your sig or something dude, I dont know why you are ashamed of it. Whats your nick there?

CG... and J/va... wonder what specs they got. Is there a section where I can get information about these "gaming locations" as you all call them? Can they play CS Source? correction do they play source? From these forums it looks like ppl dont play much CS Source or CS as a matter of fact. The game Ive seen most ppl rave about is SOF2, where is the international competition in that... I play CS Source vs bots and sometimes online (dialup), CS is like really huge through out the world. I guess so many are used to SOF2 and as this thread pointed out, unless the masses decided to move Trinidads main FPS is going to remain sof2. I will find a cafe/ppl that play source, if not ill just hypnotize you all into playing.
