Tentative Tourney Activities for 2007 ??

Well after having a couple successful tournies last year, I promised some people that I'd make 2007 a more active and more competitive year for the fighting game freaks lurking about. Some stuff I'd like to host this year would include

- 2 v 2 smash bros melee
- CVS2 again
- Hyper Street Fighter Anniversary Edition
- Guilty Gear XX Slash Teams (2v2 or 3v3)

Already scheduled is another 3rd Strike tourney which is scheduled for Carnival Sunday @ java. More details will be available as soon as I pull myself together and plan stuff out.

To the people I promised older tourney footage I apologize but my video storage drive died last night so only the replays that I have on my mem cards are around.

If anyone would like to host any tournies in any fight gimme a buzz I'll be glad to help. I know NEO had some things planned also, hope that comes true also.

Are there any tournaments planned for anytime in between now and carnival ?

None to my knowledge, at least.

However, I would like to make a MvC2 tournament a reality, and probably, if all goes well, a Mortal Kombat: Armageddon tournament.
Give me a buzz whenever you see me on-line, rb, because I've got a few ideas that I'd like to throw out.

Better yet, I think it would be a good idea to give some of the more under-appreciated titles some attention, and really give people a variety of games to knock about in.

I am almost positive that there are a good number of people who would kill for a chance to compete in games like Virtua Fighter, Last Blade and Mortal Kombat. From what I understand, the place is almost over-saturated with Tekken sweats and tournaments. No disrespect to the Tekkenites out there, but time to give it a rest, because I for one am getting a bit tired of seeing it all over the place. For a while, anyway.

Thoughts on the matter?

i totally agree. i like tekken, (cant play it, i just watch) just would like to see a couple of the other great fighters getting played. old and new.

i downloaded the jap ps2 version and burn it. it has last blade 1 and 2 on the same disc.

I wouldnt mine doubling up on tournies using a Main Tourney/Side game format. It has been done somewhat before, more recently at the CVS2 tourney people started long 3s , tekken and mvc2 sweats so its very possible to have a smaller tourney after the main one.

Also that PS2 version of Last Blade has some terrible slowdown at some points. I'll have to find back my copy and give it a run and see how it stands up to the emulated one.

yeah. Kof 2002, kof 98, xmen vs sf, smash bros. for the n64, and a few more that i cant recall right now.

what about non fighting games?

Well, if you're a duelist in any Trading Card Game (well, mainly Yu-Gi-Oh!), you can head on over to the Duelist Central section, since most notices about upcoming tournaments would be posted up there.

The only other type of non-fighting game tournaments I can think of off the top of my head are racing games and MMORPGs, both of which has been relatively quiet as of late.
