is all about care, if you wanna fxk things up quicky then please use discs with scratches like graters. The ps2 I have has been modded for almost  3 years and no problems here.

As for slim ps2s I dunno why you even watching dvds on it , dvd players uberly cheap now, why risk spending upward of 500$ on a lens for a ps2 when dvd players dirt cheap, not because the system says it can do it means that should be used for it, especially when you consider these cheap blanks the 10$ onslaught burning on.

i know zeromedia i fine they good, modded a few boxes there, but yuh have to figure if they giving a year warranty, or even 6 months then they have to be doing a good enough job that they can afford to do that, just remember to keep the PS in a well ventilated area, now with a chip and the wires in there you will need the best air flow through it possible, with the extra chip comes extra power consumption comes extra heat. Especially in the slimline.

This another thing people overlook, if yuh have it stick up beside yuh tv or in a shelf where it go collect dust and air flow will be hampered then how yuh expect not to have the parts done!
Keep it on yuh coffee table or sum when yuh sweating and when yuh eh plan to sweat for a while just store it somewhere.

How true, dust kills kills kills kills modifications (well heat cause by it - most mod chips are sensitive to it). I have a modded ps2 for about 3 years now, the secret is keeping it in a cool location but covered to keep dust out. When playing so course on cover being sure that nothing is constricting airflow, cleaning vents the air regularly always helps. Keeping away from external heat sources is smart too.

if is only originals then why yuh modding :D

i think yuh mean only brands...:P or rather reliable brands

i does use benq, tdk, iomega, and ridita (since isos are readily available on the net)
all have proven to be quite durable and does take to the disc repairing machine good, up to 5/6 repairs sometimes.
I find quality : $, benq and ridita take the cake, as people does buss price on yuh tail for TDK & iomega and is almost the same thing. the only downside is the ridita does look like some ah the generics off the bat :D

oh if yuh can invest in a can o' air, any PC place does sell it and you can use that to blow the dust off yuh system (instead of using liquid cleaners) 1once or 2wice every 1-2 months should do it provided it not stored in an area where dust is prevalent.

bad idea with the can of air thing, it can actually damage the ps2 more than help it.

the clear top ridata is hands down the best blank i have ever used with the ps2.
