Oki cool, so long as it is that you are offering original content...you never know these days, with ppl peddling 'real cheap DVDs', so it's just to clarify your position...

More than likely its a hong kong bootleg that appears original on the outside but it isn't, video quality is good but seriously do the math 26 eps on 3 dvds thats hella compression. The US gungrave collectors edition is about 120US and thats the sale price. I got caught with one of those "cheap" boxsets before, it wasn't that bad until Iwatched it home then I was blue vex...

no sir you need to check your information and what you buying for people, no gungrave collection was ever released by geneon with less than 7 discs in the US NONE . The only 3 disc collection for Gungrave IS A HONG KONG BOOTLEG. Notice I said that it looks very original, remember  Hong Kong is king of knocks off.  In case you're wondering, I've seen countless "originals" ordered by our customers like a 3 disc  Trigun collection and a 12 Disc Sam X collection ( the original from which them 10$ men making they dineros) guess what ? ALL bootlegs. ALL region free .. which company you know releases region free dvds ?

I ain't trying to jumbie yuh sale if thaz what you thinking. Just informing you as a someone offering a product to someone to give them the correct info and remind them that you do get what you pay for.

I agree with the SAM X statement. Why buy when you could download rips online :P

from the report on trinitaku, it was lacklustre as expected. Dunno why people fall for Hafeez hype anymore. I stopped after 6.5 i believe it was.

In a word, the event was BORING.

For one thing, the staple anime movies (such as Naruto, Dragon Ball Z and Bleach) weren't even on the playlist, which practically made the majority of what was shown either unheard of or anime people simply don't care about. As a matter of fact, the best thing that showed up on a screen in Anime City was the Iron Man movie, a non anime. Somewhat ironic, isn't it?

Secondly, there was a lack of side-events to keep you busy in the event that you don't want to sit down to watch anime. I remember when dueling tournaments were the very reason some people went to Anime City, as was the cosplay competition.

Now, the latter has since been watered down to a 'show and tell' scenario, and the previous has been banned from any Anime City venue (however, I am currently in talks with several people in Anime City to re-introduce dueling in Anime City....I can only hope all goes well with that.) Sure, some people can say that DDR was something you could add to this list, seeing as how it was a feature at Anime City, but, to be quite honest.....I'm somewhat sick of seeing DDR at events like this. No offense to the people that like it, though....it it makes you happy, don't take me on in that regard. When it all comes right down to it, the event was one of either two things.....you watch anime, or you buy things related to it.

I actually bolted at around 3 o' clock, because the event was very lackluster (as a matter of fact, several people I asked who were leaving quoted that same reason.) I won't say that this was the worst Anime City (that dubious honour goes to the one before this), but what I will say is that it's really such a shame that a premiere event like this has really gone downhill over the years. Anime City 5 was probably the pinnacle of the series' success, with the others showing signs of steady decline.

Now, here's what I believe contributed to the slow demise of Anime City, that they really need to take a look at:

- The removal of Yu-Gi-Oh! tournaments as a main feature of Anime City. One would think that the very venue that started it all would've at least contributed to continuing to it, and keep it as a main event feature to really draw in people, even those with no real connection to anime;

- The prevalance of sheer stupidity by several patrons.Namely, the theives, the people who pulled pranks at Bishop's High School (and nearly set fire to the Christmas Tree, as a result) and the punks that wanted to create a scene with a few people at the last venue to be hosted there. To those people, I say, "YOU SUCK." You're the very reason Anime City lost a perfectly good venue in Bishop's, and for that, you should be castrated with an ICE SKATE.

- The downhill appearance of the venues over the years. Several people would agree with me when I say that the Lion's Club was the WORST venue for Anime City in the history of forever. Not only was there no air-conditioning, but it also rained, so people on the outside was forced to crowd up in the shed indoors where the event was held. This last venue certainly wasn't as bad, because it at least had air-conditioning, but dammit to HELL, it was more crowded that a clown car at the circus. Some people even commented to me that "the only place for Anime City is Centre of Excellence, full stop." I'm somewhat inclined to agree, because nobody likes to go to a convention that's more tightly packed than a tin of Brunswick sardines.

- The lackluster line-up of anime offered. You know things have taken a turn for the worse when an American cartoon knocks everything else at the event flat. Like I said before, none of the truly headline-making anime made an appearance here. As a matter of fact, excluding Miami Cops, Basilisk and a couple others, the anime selection...well, it SUCKED. Apparently, gone are the days when movies like Samurai X: Betrayal and El-Hazard headlined an event like this.

-The watering down of Cosplaying. Sure, some of us actually do look forward to this, but when they watered it down to merely taking pictures, it doesn't really say much for motivation other than showing off. I felt so sorry for a couple of friends of mine there, because it felt like they had to work throughout the whole thing without really strutting their stuff out there and showing people what costume talent they had.

So, that, in a nutshell, is what I think caused Anime City to decline for a while.
They really have to sit down and think it out before they come up with a next one, because BOY, oh, BOY...did this one strike out as a lousy event.

Well......as to whether or not I'd attend a next one.....I'd go, but just to nose around and take a day off from the usual conundrum that is my life. To be honest, I'm not all that much into anime. Sure, I'm really into the artistic style of it , but these days, the new anime programming is just not appealing to me all that much as it did before.
