As this year draws to a close I am reminded by my inner self that I told him that next year I'd devote myself to getting back into the thick of competitive fighting gaming, so what better way to do that than challenge some of you people (right?). Work is usually a pain when it comes to having free time but I'm getting a week off from Dec 31st to the 7th Jan which leaves me a week for gaming. I'll be at Tech Source on the Saturday (the 6th I believe) so anyone from the west can have their fill then or arrangement s can be made for alternative locations during the week.

Games & Stips

Street Fighter Alpha Anthology - I'll play anything on the disc even pocket fighter.
Capcom VS SNK 2 - Ratio/3v3/Single choice is yours.
Hyper Street Fighter 2 - The anniversary edition - Lemme make this clear one time I THROW whenever I see the opportunity for damage all you old school "honorable" players please take note, I play to win not to be honorable.

Other games -
Street Fighter 3 3rd Strike - I haven't touched this in a while and my new arcade stick isn't being very friendly with this game, we'll see how it goes.
Guilty Gear XX Slash - see above
MVC2 - I'm not much of a threat without a dreamcast pad, so ps2 people take your wins now

King Of Fighters XI - doubtful there'll be much of anyone playing this.
Neo Geo Battle Coliseum - see above

Oh yeah I have a kaillera server on standby also, did some testing the other night with some people on dsl locally, average pings were in the 50's and were very playable (ie minimal lag on games like xmen vs sf & alpha 3). If you wanna play online its no problem arranging to play via kaillera.

Have at you. Always in for a good overall sweat. I'm in for everything except that KoF and the NGBC for reasons I'm sure you know already.

I get pissed off sometimes for being called to sweat one game. Say, I'm trying to source a US version SFEX3. Any help there? Its just EX 3 with NO slowdown period. Theimport sucks.

I'm bumping this up, console war approaches

played imperial and analyst on the 6th in cvs2 and 3s. Imperial got the better of the CVS2 and 3S. I probably got 2 wins in cvs2 and 3 in 3s.

Beat analyst pretty convincingly in CVS2 something like 6 - 1 with A-Bison/Sak/Sagat.

Folks have mastered Sakura run? Paint the fence? If so, I'm definitely staying the hell away from CvS2 from now on. :|

you can thank nestor (sage) for inspiring me to get back into cvs2, it was sometime after that st. maarten tourney that I picked up cvs2 and started learning A-Groove stuff. Still can't paint the fence on p1 but got it down perfect on p2 on call. As far as sakura goes, shoshosho has saved my ass more times than I can count, I really gotta learn the basics with here.

Oh, how I royally HATE it when Sakura paints the fence. She truly puts Tom Sawyer to shame.
That is one game that makes me WISH it has advancing guards.

Yes, it is I (Note: Usually it's just "Ultima"; "Shin Ultima" is only when regular "Ultima" handle is not available). We need a rematch. Never mind the last time I played someone in MvC2 was against you. :p

I never bothered to learn paint the fence myself (or any A-Groove stuff really). I tried it a few times and gave up because my arm was killing me. I'm don't think I'm coordinated enough to do it. That, and I don't care enough about CvS2 to get better at it. :\

That vid is with jab scrapes. Do you have to do the entire dp motion with the hp scrape because of recovery time?

that vid is with hp & mp mixed inbetween, starts with hp and somewhere between the 3rd and 5th rep switches to mp. I can't seem to get the timing down with hp for the full 5 hits, so i just didnt bother trying as it does fairly decent damage anyway
