scary stuff!

Been hearing more and more incidents of game related violence in recent times.

some say it's not a siginificant factor, but being an industry without long term pyschological statistics, I am truly worried.

Thankfully, we haven't had any major violence in a GATT sweat since our inception. (cept for that guy gettin beat by his dad for breakin school to run game)

The thing that confuses me is that Qiu was charged. Wasn't it possible for the programmer to create another one (then again it could have been a legendary weapon than appears once)

what am i hearing?

you actually suggesting talking about an immaterial object? MURDER has been done. Its a far greater issue that this person would contemplate and carry out murder than whether he could get another digital weapon for a game....

People have been killed for less things, such as: Steping on a man shoes, which could have easily been cleaned..

Its just like that thread I posted a while aback about the boy who blamed GTA for his violent behaviour. I think he killed 2 cops.. or something so and said "we all have to die sometime" but anyways... this is just reflective of the degenerative state that the entire world is in currently. Here in T&T we have leader of oppo in jail while they wanna hang ppl as a short term measure of controlling crime whilst they willing to spend 850Million tax paying dollars to build a kiss meh @$$ sports complex. Not to mention the 100's of millions on CEPEP. Then we have US against terrorism... ask the iraq's living under their coalition forces rule who the terrorist really is... and then there are war torn countries all over the world like bosnia. The world on a whole is willing to kill for pitance, this is not a surprise to me but rather a reminder that its the end of days.

These incedents are unfortunate to say the least.  But to blame games or tv is just an indication of the ignorance that plagues general society.  And it would seem that ignorance truly is bliss.  As most ppl would seem to prefer to remain 'stupid' and believe everything that the media shoves down their throat than to actually attempt to find the facts that will lead to the truth.
As ProtoJoe indicated, these incedents occur accross the board, they are not isolated to ppl involved in games, music and tv.

heh..start downloading that tonight. 4Gigs immc. i think maybe they need to have some sort of "gaming police" to protect the writes of gamers in situations like this. Even though that would bring on a whole new geekdom unto this world. People need to lighten up. You dont see me attacking Baego for cheating me in Tekken Tag on Saturday

Korean press picks up tale of tragedy when couple plays World of Warcraft to excess, infant perishes from neglect.

In a story out of Korea, which is just now surfacing in the Western press, a couple in Incheon, South Korea, were arrested last week when their 4-month-old daughter died after being left alone by the couple for hours. The mother and father reportedly had gone to a nearby Internet cafe, lost themselves in playing Blizzard's massively multiplayer online PC game World of Warcraft, and returned to their home only to find the infant dead from suffocation. "We booked the pair on criminal charges, judging that when you consider the situation, they were responsible for their daughter's death," a policeman told the Chosun Ilbo newspaper. The couple reportedly told police, "We were thinking of playing for just an hour or two and returning home like usual, but the game took longer that day." The infant was the couple's only child.

Nah, is the moment you start seeing this kinda shit in trinidad...then it hit the rocks. Those Asian countries, where they obviously value game over life (as seen in previous articles) Its just real sad....
