Miscast comic book characters
« on: November 09, 2006, 10:22:06 AM »
In certain comic book movies, actors or actresses are sometimes miscasted.
A notable example to me was Invisble Woman. Jessica Alba is smoking, salsa hot!!! However I thought that she should not have taken the role. Scarlett Johansson would have been a better candidate...not just for the sake of good looks but for the acting talent as well.
Another notable example was George Clooney in Batman and Robin. Goddammit....the freakin' doctor from ER as the Dark Knight...Holy rusted metal batman!!! Kilmer, Keaton and Bale were the best nuff said.
Anyway the point to this thread is for you to express your disgust towards Hollywood's stupid casting of superheroes in film..

Post Away Gentlemen!!

Kirsten Dunst as Mary Jane Watson in Spider-Man. Tell me they could not have gotten somebody a lot hotter to play MJ. We all know that she is supposed to be a smoking hot supermodel. Kirsten Dunst? Give me a break.

True talk...I found Kirsten cute in "Interview with the Vampire" and I thought she would grow up to be an uber-hottie.

I was wrong...she doesn't look bad...but Mery Jane is a supermodel/hottie...Kirsten Dunst isn't...
The same went for Jean in the X-Men movies...Famke Janssen isn't bad but...she's not hot enough to be Jean...I'm sure Crixx would agree with me on this.

He would be insane tro state otherwise

Most notable is Tyler Mane as Sabretooth from the first X-Men movie. Triple-H would have been a better choice

But every blasted one in dat movie was miscasted! never seen a set of scruny fellas in meh life!

I agree with the sentiment and Famke was an awful choice for Jean. She looked awful in X:Men 2. What surprised me, though, was that while she tanked as Jean Grey in the first two movies, she was perfect in the last as Dark Phoenix. Third time's the charm, I guess.

Also, straying a bit here....Dean Cain was a pretty bad pick for Superman in Lois and Clark. I never saw a Man of Steel look so rail-thin in my life.

I'll hit you one even better.

Uma Thurman as Poison Ivy in Batman and Robin.

I mean, when I heard that Poison Ivy was going to be in the next Batman movie, I was like: "Yaaaaay!!!", and when I saw that she looked like something you'd pick up in the Red Light District after being hit several times by a garbage truck, I was like "Boooooooo."

i disagree with you here, i don't see what HHH could have brought to that role that Tyler Mane couldn't.

Well for starters, Tyler Mane is scrawny compared to Triple H.
I dunno, the game just has that natural ferocious look. Add the makeup and some extra facial hairs and claws...he would have made a great Sabretooth.

Oh and off the Topic...it was rumored that he was supposed to be the new Conan

I agree about Rogue. She was always one of my favorite X-Men and to see Anna in that role ... unbelievable. They could have done so much more with that one. I didn't mind Halle in Catwoman that much. The story was lame and the costume was as well but she was quite hot in the movie. Tommy Lee could have pulled off Two-Face but not with the script he was given. Besides, the movie focused too much on Riddler. I mean, the entire back-story of Two-Face took up a whole 30 seconds in the movie and this is one of the most interesting Batman villains.

i actually found superman was pretty well cast, only problem was that it was time for a REAL super powered villain.

i think we should give cage a chance as ghost rider. he is an awesome actor.

i surprised nobody here mention halle berry as storm. dat hatta be the worst casting ive seen for the x men line up .(unfortunate thing is im not sure who coulda do that role...)

cyclops was a cardboard cut out but he really looked the part.

anybody find Topher Grace looks more like peter parker than Tobey?
