No Naruto till the 18th. and Bleach I thought (well for naruto as well to be honest) the season was finished but next week bleach as normal, up till 146, and 147 a filler arc startin (forest of Menos)

Some new series out as well tho, nice ones to fill the voids.
Dragonaut lookin good, despite the first episode being full of overdone yet staple cliches
Clannad looks good and yet havent yet had time to check out blue drop

A very loopy chapter. Given that we've got another time jump still to come I'm rather frightened of what Kishi will come up with next. Nagato seems crazy as hell. And his master plan is basically a rip off of the cold war's nuclear deterrent.
Also given that Tobi is his boss, I wonder if he's just being used into thinking this is Akatsuki's ultimate goal, or whether Tobi believes this crap too.

I am thinking more along the lines that Nagato is perhaps using Tobi instead... meaning the Riningan isn't able to control the Biju thus he needs a powerful sharingan user, however the Riningan in and of itself could prolly beat the sharingan... time alone will tell... now whats this of ANOTHER TIME JUMP???

Kishi has stated that he plans to have two time jumps in the series.
While the way you call it could be the case, I don't think it is. The way Kishi is approaching Tobi, basically having his story gradually fall in from the outside leads me to believe that he wants it to take priority at some point, thus making Tobi a real boss as opposed to the figurehead who's being controlled.

It seems that this idea at the very least is the sort of thing he's put alot of time into contriving. Unlike Pain who seems to have been pulled from his ass sometime a few months ago, Madara's foundation was laid over 100 chapters ago when he made carefully sure that his statue was the one opposite Shodai Hokage. This can't be coincidence because it seems to me the natural person to have opposite Shodai is Nidaime. So given that he's put the basic groundwork from that far back i don't think Tobi is going to be shrugged aside for Pain.

I've noticed that this week's chapter has caused a serious backlash against Pain though. Where once everyone thought he was badass his status has sunk faster than a rock in the water.

but yeah iam sure the biggest wtf moment for a long time has been the revelation that the statue opposite shodaime was madara

i mean he even looks alot like nidaime and since shodaime and nidaime basically built konoha from the ground up it would have made sense for them to be those statues

Simply put: Pain has too much of a god complex to have a boss. Akatsuki are all mercenaries for hire and S-class criminals. What would make their leader any different? Nah...Pain and Tobi are in league. If not partners, then business associates. Tobi, however and whoever he is...is definitely the last antagonist.

Either him or Kabut/o/richimaru.

About the legitamacy of pain as a character...I wanted to believe it initially...but pain also probably hasn't been pulled out of his ass... mainly because of Konan's parallel existence despite her lacking an actual identity until recently and also Pain's possession of the Rinnegan. It, though again unrevealed, has also been shown quite a few chapters ago.  QUITE a few.

As for the backlash against pain...well...meh...it depends on where you look. I've seen increased hype for him by that very same token. I think the fact that he has not only a plan for the economic but also social manipulation of the world to be damned awesome. The number one rule of shonen fans is this: They're going to complain.

ok so.....im rather dissappointed they made out pain to be a mad man...but suppose kishi does to him what he did to kimimaro in the sense that he come out hot and sweaty and died soon after? cause the first ever episode i saw of naruto was the kimimaro and gaara fight....been hooked on the stuff since then....

My thoughts on the new chapter can be summed up as such:  NOT SO FAST KAIBA...I MEAN PAIN!!

It's like they're playing freakin Yu-gi-oh now...
Only interesting part was this new summon of Jiraiya's.

Nah nothing like that. Sannin and Sennin are completely different things. Sennin means sage or something.

Obviously its naruto..."he has the power to change anyone he meets" and all that crap....its one of those things the writer is putting into place now but isnt gonna come out and say it but leave it to be quite obvious eg, who is naruto's daddy?
