I suppose it's too much to hope that Sasuke does not survive his encounter with Itachi.
Honestly if he died I think the series would be looking up alot more.
Yeah, that's right, I said it. Sasuke sucks.

And if he and Naruto clashed in a PTS version of VotE, Chidori versus Rasenshuriken, Sasuke will die. No two ways about it, Rasenshuriken is unstoppable.
But of course at the vend of the day it will end up where Sasuke uses his "that jutsu" and then Naruto will use his "that jutsu" wihich will be by far the more powerful "that jutsu" so then "that jutsu" will clash with "that jutsu" and "that jutsu" will triumph leaving Naruto the last one standing. It's very simple *snicker*.

in all likelyhood it will be some sort of ranged aoe attack.

just look at the versatility of his chidori at this point.

and if he does manage to beat itachi, iam sure he will ascend to some itachi esque level
revealing his top tier sharingan.

and if itachi's clone can be manersing naruto at every turn

Being able to generate a bodily chidori field like Blanka doesn't impress me nearly as much as creating the highest known level ninjutsu in the world. Minato couldn't do what Naruto did, Kakashi couldn't either, or Jiraiya. Kakashi said himself that Naruto would be the man to create a jutsu higher than S-rank, and that's what he created.

And while sharingan is a ridiculously uber hax move, it isn't unbeatable. Shodai handed Madara his ass didn't he? And Itachi ran from Jiraiya. Frankly I don't think Naruto can beat him as things stand, not without using tailed forms anyway, but if you think anyone will have the last laugh but Naruto you must be forgetting that this is shounen.

And lastly, as far as "that jutsu" goes, I'll say you're the one that must be insane to think anything will be able to surpass Naruto's, whatever it is. Naruto's "that jutsu" is the culmination of Yondaime's ultimate plan for sealing the Kyuubi's yang chakra in him. The Kyuubi is bar none the strongest being in the narutoverse. Whatever it is that Naruto has coming will the equivalent of SSJ as Toriyama originally intended it (with Frieza saga being the end of the series). It's the shounen rule, and Kishi is too bogged down by these things to do otherwise.

and both times weve seen naruto use it
he had to have kakashi make the rasengan for him whilst he does the wind chakra

... so in other words, if naruto hadda use that against sasuke
it hadda be a 2 v 1 against sasuke.. so yeah...

No, you're definitely wrong about the rasenshuriken crixx. Naruto did the majority of his work for the actual rasenshuriken under Yamato while Kakashi went with the task force that was tracking Hidan and Kakuzu. Naruto did form a Fuuton Rasengan with Kakashi and he clashed it against Kakashi's own Rasengan but when Naruto used Rasenshuriken against Kakuzu it was the first time Kakashi ever saw it. Naruto used it three times total. First the time he messed up the execution, then he had three clones use it as a diversion, then when he used it to K.O. Kakuzu.

Jiraiya stated very boldly that it was common knowledge that Shodai beat Madara at VotE. True we don't know how he beat him or if Madara did eat some bad doubles in the morning and was feelin sick, but all we have to go on atm is that Shodai won.

You're about genjutsu of course, Naruto is highly susceptible. Despite the fact that he can simply use clones to inject chakra into himself to counter it. But that's why I said I believed the only way he has a chance atm is with tailed forms. I doubt the Kyuubi can be genjutsued.

As for fighting Akatsuki solo, technically Naruto fought Kakuzu solo. While he did lose some of his hearts in the fighting before, Naruto never tag teamed him. And Rasenshuriken would have K.O.ed him regardless of how many hearts he still had active.
And Sasuke beating Deidara was PnJ btw. He still won, but it was total bs.

 Sasuke and Naruto are a bad match to begin with...

Sasuke will have the natural advantage of speed and agility , yes RasenganShuriken will slaughter anything in one hit , but you think naruto can catch Sasuke ?

 In a serious battle , sasuke can win by striking early , before naruto has a chance to generate too many clones / pull out kyuubi .

 As we'v seen Kabuto do , a strike to the heart will stop his ability to utilize chakra , he'll be dead ,no fox to save him...

 The sharingan can also control the Fox , as we'v seen Sasuke do before...

Ideally Naruto/Sasuke would make the best team , Sasuke to keep Naruto's fox in check and strike fast, Naruto to last long with his stamina and hit hard....
 
 Like a strength hero/ Agil hero team in Dota ....


And don't forget , Rasengan Shuriken isn't something Naruto wants to use too often , only in desperate need.

 What naruto needs to beat sasuke is to master the 4ths Flicker jutsu, and learn to combine more elements with rasengan ... You need at least 2 to be considered a Jounin..

Once he has the speed , and gets some common sense.. he can beat sasuke .

I'm not too sure what he did there was control the fox more than it was controlling Naruto and suppressing the chakara that way. Unless you're talking about another time. I might be wrong. What chapter was that. I'd like to go back and read it.

Considering that Tobi intends to use the power of Madara which has been hinted to controlling the tailed beasts I would have to say that chances are the most advanced form of the Sharingan (not just the Mangekyou) would be able to not just surpress kyubi but control it IF it were SUMMONED. ON the other hand, a Demon tailed Naruto is a bit different. If you recall early on with the introduction of Yamato, he mentioned to Naruto that the fact that he can survive the Kyubi chakra (other than Kyubi using the chakra to heal him) is because his own body has built up a large amount and capacity of chakra itself to protect naruto from the red type. In essence what I am hinting towards is that in the end, if if comes down to a sasuke vs. Naruto battle, Naruto will be fighting him on his own and prolly not with the help of the nine tails. That will come in Naruball-Z-GT-Unleashed....

On another note, anyone taking in the badness that is Jaraiya in Senin form? WOI!!! and Pain... still has ALOT of tricks up his sleeve we're sure, the next chp should be BOSS!!!
