I wouldn't want to be the game tester for a project like this. This tech demo from ThePodunkian shows an ability to take a screenshot, then open a portal back into that world that you just took a picture of.

It's the kind of concept that must've at least been on the drawing board for Portal 2, after all, wasn't there a test-chamber that talked about meeting your future self?
