President Bush decides he's in charge of space Along with everywhere elseBy Paul Hales: Thursday 19 October 2006, 11:43PRESIDENT GEORGE Bush junior has signed a piece of paper to claim the right to police outer space. This means that if anyone he doesn't like tries to go there, he'll tell them not to. He doesn't say he'll nuke them if they do. But he doesn't rule it our either. "This policy emphasises that the United States is committed to peaceful uses of space by all nations and that space systems enjoy the right of free passage," a White House spokesman said. "Protection of space assets does not imply some sort of forceful action," he added. µ L'INQBBC report
