Automaing Dell Update

my buddy had to reinstall his OS on his dell dimension 2300 and asked me to download the nessasary updates and drivers because he cant find his resource CDs, the thing is i don't have the time to explain to him how to install ans such (he is really nooby) so i was wonderind if anyone can point me in the direction of where to look or if you have ever done this kinda thing before to help me out, please!

P.S. Please no drama about google, they only let me use MSN in work. (yes i know.)

yeah i have all already but i looking to batch script in into auto installso he eh go have to hut he head figuring it out.

i used a prog called nlite to integrate service packs, sundry updates and drivers into one image.. but of course, this still isnt what you want..

i think with the new shell in vista ( monad ) you could do somethin like that. i know in *nix you could...


how about just extracting the files(they extract to c:\dell\{filename}  ) and makin a batch file to run, so all he has to do is click through?
but then again, it might jsut run all at the same time, without a pause

yeah i use nlite to integrate alot of stuff i also use explode to integrate the appz
I am going to use a batch file, fig out pausing is small thing, but i wanted to do it silently do he doh have to  do nun, just click and go take a dump and come back and his pc rebooted and ready, he could use a computer boss he just have no idea how to maintain one. ^_^
